Comment: First of all I want to say thank you to the Kiwi Virtual Team and the Sponsor Red Bull. Without their help and friendly support, it wouldn’t be possible to win races. The guys from Kiwi and Red Bull made a super fast car for this season! Last but not least: “Thank you Roy (Kolbe), you did a perfect setup for my car.”

The qualifying went quite well: I took the lead from my first lap on in qual 1. I did one stint of 3 laps, nothing more, then I saved my concentration for qual 2.

In the 2nd qual for the superpole, I made a 5 lap stint. With 17 cars there was a lot of traffic out on track. But I found a gap to do at least 3 fast laps and took the pole with 1.5 seconds to place 2.

The race: I had a perfect start and took the lead from the beginning. It was a very hard race, because there wasn’t much grip on the track. The lapping started from lap 2. From that lap on the traffic on track was always really heavy. I couldn’t lean back for a second, I had always to concentrate on the slippery track and the traffic. When after lap 15 I saw that my team mate Brian Oates had taken position 2, I felt a lot better and more confident. He did a tremendous job by bringing home his 2nd place and first podium this season. I did my fastest lap in lap 10 (1.33.432). There around I found some laps to push hard without too much traffic. The last 3 laps of the race were without traffic too, so again I could do laps at around 1.33.5. But the traffic was the same for everyone and so, all in all I was able to bring home a safe second win; with Brian’s 2nd place a perfect 1-2. Thanks again to the Kiwi Virtual Team and the sponsor Red Bull.

Three more things:
1st: Some people didn’t read the FSR WS rules carefully or didn’t read them at all. They chatted in every minute, in every session, even in the qual sessions. It was sometimes really difficult to concentrate.
2nd: Some guys joined and left sessions every few minutes, had tons fo mismatches, thousands of questions – this has to stop for the next race in Imola.
3rd: There were drivers, who behaved really fair, when they got to be lapped. But others didn’t leave space when I approached from behind. One driver didn’t let me pass by for nearly 3 laps(!!!) when I tried to lap him. Half a lap, okay, but everything more than 1/2 lap is too much. In real races, you must immediately let pass faster drivers when you get the blue flag. Otherwise you will be punished. Of course, I did not have the intention to risk a crash, because I was in the lead and I had a remarkable gap to place 2. But if the race had been closer, this behaviour could have cost me the win. All in all I lost about 20 seconds because of unfair backmarkers. I hope the Kiwi management can forward my thoughts to the FSR administration and that the FSR will speak clear words in the upcoming driver briefings before the future races start.

Comment: What a Race that was! 1st qual started great when I set a personnel best of 1.34.352 to finish 4th, 2nd qual did another good time for me of 1.34.488 to start 3rd on the grid.
At the start of the race my engine nearly stalled giving me a poor start dropping me to 7th by the 1st corner, to make things worse I court a curb on turn five and did a 360 but managed to get back on track quickly and safely, after that it was head down and try to recover as much ground as I could, never expecting to finish second to my Team mate Dani who ran a great race from the front.
I must thank my team Kiwi Virtual, my sponsors Red Bull and also my Engineer Laszlo who set the car up beautifully, thanks guys, this one’s for you.

Comment: In free parctice I was getting FPS as low as 11, could only manage to get P11 and thought I'd have no chance to race. Then in Qual 1 I managed to get into 6th with a 1'34.6.

Qual 2 was way better, only 8 cars on track and I got a good run doing a 1'33.9 to take P3 ahead of Brian Oates.

The start was terrible, FPS was low and at the 1st split I was involved in the accident at T4, down to 12th. Managed to get back into P3 but couldn't get around Luis who on the start straight would move left, right, left, right I just couldn't make a safe pass. Anyway I got frustrated with that and lost the car, beached it and couldn't get off a curb for what seemed like 30s, down to 8th I think.

More cars DNF'ed and I was able to drive faster, then low FPS every few laps would throw me off the track. Always Scott was close by to pass me, I would retake him and once again FPS would throw me off.

I should be happy to finish 6th but I know I could've made it a Kiwi 1-2-3 as my race laps in practice were all 1'34s but in the race with low FPS I struggled.

BrianL, I saw you go off track, took avoiding action and was amazed I missed you, went off track, rejoined and you were very sporting to slow and allow me to pass.

I two stopped and it was definately the best strategy, but only if you hvae a good connection.

Thought I had P4 tied up late in the race until FPS threw me off again. I need a faster connection or a closer server to NZ :)

Congrats to Dani and BrianO, no doubt the first of many 1-2's Wink

Comment: I very good race all round for me but I don't really know where my race pace come from as i was lapping quicker than the guys that where ahead of me during qual ?

The start was really wired as at T4 someone flew passed me on the inside & was coimg in way to fast & i'm sure i saw about 3 - 4 cars hit as thought we would get a RED flag race ??? anyway that causd me damage to my rear wing & i spun at the very next bend ( the very quick left - right bends ) I spun agin on the next lap with tyres not up to race temp & after that i was battling with Trev rooms for a few laps ( hope i passed ya clean Trev ? ) I put my head down & began to focus on the car far ahead of me & slowly realed him in before i knew it there where a few cars ahead of me like scott, DT & the guys that caused the accident at T4 & i remember think i would if they are holding each other up or they all spun ? I noticed as i got closer that I was quicker than them around the very quick left, right just b4 the last back straight so the next lap i passed DT, then a few laps l8er got into scott's slipstream & passed him at the last corner. I next noticed that a few cars ahead of me where pitted on lap 14 - 15 & that put me up to 3rd Very Happy with 6 laps b4 my pit stop as i was 1 stopping. I pulled out a 8 sec gap b4 i pitted & that dropped my to 7th as i pulled away from my box i got the dreaded " Speeding in Pits, Stop & Go " my heart sank as i knew then that 3rd place & the podium where far out of my reach :(
I pitted again next lap to serve my stop & go & soon caught scott again & passed him then DT & with 3 laps ( in 4th place ) to go at 10 secs ahead of DT I caught the kerb badly at T8 spun & ripped off my front wing & damaged the steering b4 i knew it DT, then scott & the guy that caused the accident at T4 all blew passed me & infact i may have hit DT at the very quick left - right b4 the last straight as my car lost all grip at the front causing me to run over the kerbs hard & as i tried to correct it it threw me arkwardy into DT on comming pathc. Very Sorry DT Embarassed

To stop for a replacement wing would have cost me even more places so i soldiered on but 2 other cars zoomed by me & from a solid 4th, i dropped down to 8th.

I did enjoy the whole race itself.

I doubt anyone can keep pace with Dani & after just 2 races I conside the title to him as he's from a different planet, none of us can match his pace.

The rest of us can only fight for 2nd & 3rd places on the podium Laughing

Thx to everyone that took part :)

Comment: I had a fantastic start from P9 to p3 into the first corner. The first 3 cars really stayed colse, and managed to open up a gap to the rest of the pack.

Unfortunately I lost my front wing, due to the P2 car blowing up in front of me. I had to cruise back to the pits.

After repairs, I was in 12th posision, and I managed to work my position up to 8th before the 1st pitstop.

I eventually finished 9th.

Comment: In qual1 I realised that my accelerator pedal was damaged. There were no such problems in the prior practice session so it was a bit of a surprise. I attempted to fix them during qual2 but only made it worse, now there was also ~8% of the brake constantly applied. Brake failure ultimately lead to my retirement.

Comment: First qualifying was ok, I was 3rd with no practice at all in qualifying trim. But then I wanted to improve the rear grip and I changed something in the set-up before the second session which was quite exagerated. The car felt terrible and I couldn't even make one timed lap. For the race, I thought that changing some settings would bring the balance back, but I soon realized in the race that the big mistake was the tyre pressures. I just over-estimated it completely. So it was a disaster. Despite a good start, I spun everywhere. After 6 difficult laps, I decided to retire because I had no fun at all.
