2007-03-25Malaysia Sepang, Malaysia 2007 Kiwi VirtualWC2007P8P6Comment: Overall a decent race for me. I had a nice start and managed to climb up to P4 and benefited from mistakes and accidents from De Witt, Binz and Trinka, but unfortunately I simply lacked some raw pace today, so I instead tried to be strategically good in pit stops and in defending my position. That worked out until the last laps, when Kuncman overtook me and I had a contact with him later on, which put me just behind Darius.3View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2007-04-01Bahrain Sakhir, Bahrain 2007 Kiwi VirtualWC2007P8P9Comment: Somewhat mixed feelings at the moment. My race was influenced by a wounded pedal foot toe (strain injury from too much practise) and Schmalenbach's abrupt change of line in the middle of braking into turn 3, which cost me front wing and a damaged car for rest of the race, but this is what happens when you start in the midfield. I had a funny moment when I overtook Kuncman, who had lapped me earlier, but apart from that my race was boring. Trinka showed everything was in podium shape for us, congrats for him, so I already wait for the next race.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2007-04-22Australia Melbourne, Australia 2007 Kiwi VirtualWC2007P21P19Comment: The worst race of my short FSR career so far, though the man himself was only partly to blame this time. In quali I went two times wide in the same corner, which accounted for a cut, so I had to give up and settle for last grid, hoping for less contact from fellow racers.
My naive thoughts proved wrong already in T1 lap 1, as Andrey swerved in front of me by cutting the corner, which accounted for some yellow damage. I rose as far as P11, until Danny rammed into me, by accident though, which took of the last few inches of balance I had left on the car. Continued a few laps as P22 before the car let of in a fast turn.
Kiwi Virtual had a very unlucky and disappointing weekend, but through more intense practising together we can turn the situation, once we are back on a "normal" track like Barcelona, where it's possible to finish without (?) having contact with another car.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2007-06-03Canada Montreal, Canada 2007 Kiwi VirtualWC2007P9P3Comment: First time I managed to do a race (almost) without any problems. Quali was somewhat usual and couldn't bring the sectors together, but no points were lost at least.
The race pace was better, I managed to do a few laps in the very top pace but lost a bit in consistency. I was on roughly equal pace as my team mate, but he lost ground after a bad pit entry. By a simple 2 stop strategy I managed to climb into P4, with Danny on 1-stopper behind me, but I had a 0.5 second frame rate freeze (really), which cost me one position. After De Wit had retired, I thought I had to give Danny at least some challenge for podium, as P4 is not the most pleasant position to finish at. Unfortunately I lost my front right brake 6 laps before the finish, so thought to give up, but somehow Danny managed to be even more unlucky and I "overtook" him in the last corner of the last lap.
An important podium considering the future. It should be a lot easier to continue from this and hopefully Darius gets it together as well in USA, so the team can have both cars in the top.6View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2007-06-24United States Indianapolis, United States 2007 Kiwi VirtualWC2007P13P13Comment: As the result shows my race was pretty shameful. Problems arised already in the start, when De Wit spun in front of me and I had no option but ram into him, damaging my front end. After that I had to overtake a few cars quickly, but had a contact which pulled me even further back. When the colliding was finally over, my car started to live its own life with both oversteer and understeer which I couldn't deal with very efficiently, so I had no chance to catch up the 30 seconds needed to the point guys and thus decided to cruise home to finish, falsely hoping to see a few retirements. Obviously the setup was not up to its task and the driver made too many miscalculations. Hoping for a better Magny.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2007-07-01France Magny Cours, France 2007 Kiwi VirtualWC2007P5P6Comment: One of these races which brings somewhat mixed feelings. In quali I managed to keep it together for the first time of the season, P5 and deserved congratulations heh, although in my second stint the car was going towards P3 until an error in end, but that's iffing.
Was then looking forward to a somewhat less effortful race, but seems that's never the case in WC. With De Wit behind my ass I took it careful in the first corner and lost two positions, but found myself back behind Kuncman after De Wit had spun off. Then the problems started, as the car was understeering much more than in practise for some clueless reason. A mistake pulled me behind Spengler and with hurrying up to overtake him we had a 50-50 contact with no one to blame. From there my race started again, as the front grip was slowly getting better as the track warmed up and I had some nice fights with GhostSpeeds. With a few laps left Schmalenbach and Rouault were battling just in front and somehow I knew that wouldn't end up good, and as they crashed I had the ideal place to overtake both.
Overal I expected a bit more since this belonged to my favourite tracks, but looking at fastest laps and quali pace there was at least some improvement. Making a conservative race setup was an error, but after USA I had to make sure rear grip would last. On the whole a bit unfortunate for the team, as we could have kept quali places with better luck, but hopefully Trinka's pc stops screwing it up from now on.3View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2007-08-19Hungary Hungaroring, Hungary 2007 Kiwi VirtualWC2007P11P16Comment: After one week of state-of-illness caranteen the feeling was good to be back in action. The team was still a bit dizzy in qualifying, but in race things got working better and managed to climb into 8th in start. As expected the turbulence in front didn't give much hopes for overtaking, so I peacefully linked myself to the De Wit train, kind-hearted as I am. As time passed mere hopes rised that the exhausting conditions would eliminate at least a few eager competitors, but the racer found himself unable to catch more than one position. Going towards twilight the absence of brake power caught its victim; an unavoidable result of being the meat packed inside a hamburger throghout the race. Altogether a faintly promising experience - the capacaity for fourth place - but yet another zero-pointer. The team will go on to hunt lucky objects to bring the much needed resurrection for the vendetta in the Turkish atmosphere. In the meantime, recovery and convalescence. 0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2007-09-09Italy Monza, Italy 2007 Kiwi VirtualWC2007P4P13Comment: What an exiting race, with all overtakings and drama. After a few races not worth to mention I gathered myself and did some radical suspension changes, and knowing that Monza has been good for me before I managed P4 in qual, even with a few mistakes, so was reasonably happy with that.

For the race start I didn't want to take any risks, especially as I had to take care of my brakes due to the 1-stop strategy. I managed to pass Kuncman, but he passed me back and a few laps later I settled behind Schmalenbach and Rouault, hoping to see somewhat similar to France. But then I realized Rouault was on a one stopper, so I went back on full boost and tried to overtake him, but luckily he made a mistake in the 2nd chicane, which made things a lot easier for me.
After Greco's first pit stop and a tight exit where we almost collided, I managed to take the lead and had a mere 6 laps time before my first pit stop, but destiny came and decided to kick me in the ass, as my engine died half a lap later. With hindsight one could call it risking with the cooler settings, but based on my four finished test races I made the right decision.

The season has been long and hard, so I hope together with Trinka, who had a tough time competing in an other series, we will squeeze everything out of the car in the rest races of the season. 0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2007-09-23Belgium Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium 2007 Kiwi VirtualWC2007P6P6Comment: If you want to finish sixth, you have to finish. That was the essence of my race, all goals on bringing the car over the finish line. The pace has finally been almost there during the last few races, but bad luck, call it what you call it, have made things harder in races.

Quali went okay, finished P7 with a few hundreths separating P4 from P9. The start was once again somewhat chaotic, lost a few positions at first but got past both Spengler and Disley at Rivage, and later on Kuncman helped Schmalenbach out of the way. The car was pretty neat in stints 1 and 2, so could easily follow Kuncman and Lapchin in front without trying anything stupid. Yan came to his second stop one lap earlier and after doing my own I managed past him, also thanks to some problems he had in pits. The end stint was really hard with Yan gaining pace and me losing it, so had to rely on a lot of powersliding in the slow corners. Eventually he managed to slipstream me, but luckily I avoided being overtaken on the last lap.

After another not-so-favourite track behind, the prospects look good for Shanghai. The importance of a good car setup should not be underestimated though, neither the benefits of practising 1300 laps, but we'll see if we are able to reach some kind of compromise.

2007-10-14China Shanghai, China 2007 Kiwi VirtualWC2007P11P20Comment: I had some uber preparations for this one, but lacked top speed and reliable handling characteristics from the very beginning. Throughout the season there have been certain problems with setting up the car on high downforce tracks, where the rear tire wear and temperatures tend to go above the desired level for me, and this was no exception.

Then as my friend Ondrej pointed out, my engine stalled out and inability to enter the track under legal conditions accounted for an early retirement. But as the laws of causality imply, events are by nature related; one event (EFFECT) is triggered as a consequence of another event (CAUSE). In more explicit words, a sudden change of state in a vehicle's transmissional status could be an effect of underlying hardware/software deficiency (cause), rather than resulting from pure momentarily neurotransmissional weakness in the subject's mind (that de facto would be more understandable than forgetting to submit one's fsr manager files), which I'm, however, not going to demonstrate here due to the presence of stronger moving-picture evidence, and as because of the already exceeded 650 character limitation (cause).0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2008-03-30Australia Melbourne, Australia 2008 Torrent Motor...WC2008P20P21Comment: Quoting Ondrej and Roy, what a disastrous start into the season. Last year P21 P19, this year P16 P21, my worst WC results and both on the same track. Still, I was expecting better after thorough preparations and our team's strong result showed we were indeed doing something right, thanks to the testing crew and sponsors. In q1 I was struggling with FPS which is quite incredible considering my hardware. But even with that I should have been able to easily drive into top 10, which I indeed did on my final lap, but it was just on the edge of being driven too late, according to the majority who naturally didn't want me there to mess around in q2. On top of that I gave my wrong 2nd best lap time to admin, so I started 16th instead of 12th. This meant being in the middle of the pack, where the probabilities are very much against of not crashing. I made it to turn 2, but eny came with a damaged car and with slightly too much speed into the corner - just enough to kick me into a spin and the rest I took care of.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2008-04-20Bahrain Sakhir, Bahrain 2008 Torrent Motor...WC2008P8P2Comment: Really happy, obviously, to finally finish and take the first podium for the team and the second for myself, which could have actually come a lot earlier already. The first few laps were once again a mess, so it was important to get out of the midpack, which I managed, partly thanks to De Wit's help. First stint was just driving behind Trinka, even as a bit faster I didn't want to take any risks, and with a very good strategy I managed to get past him and again avoid the midfield hazzle. Stint 2 was a bit faster due to Yan tailing me, but he seemed to be on three stops, and after De Wit was taken out I could just roll to finish with 5-10 l extra fuel and minimal boost, seeing there was no reason to "challenge" Bruno. To finish in P2 is a bit surprising though, as the setup still wasn't that good, and even more of a miracle was to avoid any contact throughout the race. Certainly some luck, but after all weird misfortune in the last two races I think it was well deserved. Finally, thanks to the team for the ascension atmosphere and also mental support lol, all sponsors, the enlarged red bull can size for extra energy and also NVIDIA's rock solid ForceWare 158.24 drivers for preventing a bluescreen. Barca will be a lot harder, but with the newbuilt track you never know so let's wait and see what happens...8View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2008-05-04Spain Catalunya, Spain 2008 Torrent Motor...WC2008P4P4Comment: P4 today, more happy than disappointed obviously. Took the best out of Q1 and 2, even though the track time was 9 am as Bruno said, and made it into top 3 grid for the first time, so hopefully I got rid of the monkey on my back at qualifyings. Then typically what happens when you qualify well, the worst start of the season occurs, so I was lucky that cars behind didn't crash into me. From there the race started again at P6, but there was no way to overtake with this top speed without others' mistakes, which luckily for me happened to Eny. Got past Keersmaekers in the pits and after De Wit had retired in front, I just had to keep Blair behind, which I had miserably failed at in many 2007 races due to his cunning strategies. This time my pure pace was luckily enough, and in the end the top 3 wasn't too far away either, so with a better start things could have possibly been different. Anyway, a good five points at a cruel track, so moving on to Turkey with confidence.5View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2008-05-18Turkey Istanbul, Turkey 2008 Torrent Motor...WC2008P6P5Comment: Obviously another race with an unpredictable outcome - the FSR WC is full of surprises. Our quali performance was a bit below par today, did a P12 although everything felt great and the lap was within limits. For race my top speed wasn't that great either, so I fueled my car up to the max and waited for drivers in front to do mistakes. Evidently what helped me most were the disconnections though, which eliminated Bruno and Yan from the front. For the most of race I had just Davison and Eny within reach, got past Davison during the first stops and overtook Eny in the pit lane on stop two, but failed to keep needed distance and he came past too easily in T12. P5 is not a bad result though from Turkey, a track that doesn't seem to suit Finns very well. Monaco will be one of the highlight races of the year, so moving on with anticipation there.4View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2008-06-22Canada Montreal, Canada 2008 Torrent Motor...WC2008P7P5Comment: A bit mixed feelings, but after all inconvenience I'm happy to finish fifth. During the qualifying my pit box had all sorts of problems which culminated into another disconnection when the race started, but thankfully administration restarted the race. Eventually third start did the trick, but being in the middle of the pack at this track, with added lag from server, it's impossible to avoid contact, but luckily I managed to recover from slight moments with Andanson and Lapchin. After Andanson and De Wit had spun I just had to watch Davison in mirrors and try to catch Hellsten, who managed to delay his second pit stop later than I expected. In the end I should have pushed him harder, which maybe could have possibly given me a final corner overtake similar to last year here, but I guess it wasn't meant to be this time. And good job Jarno, too bad Italy lost...4View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2008-06-29France Magny Cours, France 2008 Torrent Motor...WC2008P8P5Comment: Well, another 5th place here so can't be too disappointed. Magny-Cours is a cunning technical circuit with lots of tricky aspects, so it was very important that I got the car to behave the way I wanted. Unfortunately I lost my momentum at the start when the lights went off suspiciously fast, but regained two places in adelaide to be back into eight. After that Scott did a great job of defending against me for over 30 laps without mistakes, so I really had to prepare my attack well after it failed a few times in the hairpin. After overtaking him I had clean air to do a few good laps to settle into 5th, although Hellsten was again right on the same pace putting pressure, similar to Canada. In the next race I expect to get a strong competition from team-mates, as Silverstone should suit their style better than mine, so hopefully the whole team has a bit more luck then.4View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2008-07-13Great Britain Silverstone, Great Britain 2008 Torrent Motor...WC2008P11P5Comment: Another race inside the points which is always better than nothing, especially on this track where I can neither build a descent setup nor drive fast. Luckily Andreas took care of the former so the car was generally ok. After the harvester machines had done their job in the start the next 45 laps of the race were pretty frustrating, as I was driving behind Casalins with similar strategy and couldn't risk anywhere enough to overtake him. After the second stops he got a drive through, so again somewhat luck on my side, or as someone after Nurburgring 2005 race would say, I forced him into an error. The last laps would turn out the most exciting of my race, when the fight of the bachelors went on between me and Stephane. Whilst his engineering clearly worked better in the technical sector 3, I could make use of my higher throughput speeds on the fast sections and finish on a P6. 4View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2008-07-27Germany Hockenheim, Germany 2008 Torrent Motor...WC2008P6P7Comment: Once again rather confused with the outcome. I pretty much sucked in the race; lost two positions in the first laps which hasn't happened before in season, screwed up with the fuel calculations and finished the race without brakes and fuel after some horror moments with the walls. Oddly that didn't cost me any positions so I consider myself a bit lucky again. Same can't be said about team mates who were faster but got into some wrong grid positions and also were crashed into... Nevertheless a few points is better than nothing, and sorry to Andanson who had to avoid me a bit when I was running on fumes and entering the pits. Hopefully weather is colder when I return on track in Valencia so that I can keep myself better hydrated.2View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2008-08-31Spain Valencia, Europe 2008 Torrent Motor...WC2008P8P5Comment: Fifth fifth place of the season, I guess that's some kind of record as well... It's never optimal to start a street race from P13 with digital clutch, and it's especially frustrating after a grid penalty. Going down to turn two a hurricane hit some guys in front of me, which also damaged my car but luckily I could continue with only one damage spot. From there on I had to pass a few cars to get back into the points, but anti cuts threw my car on two weels a few times which was rather scary. Rest of the race was elimination chess; tried to avoid the barriers and finished fifth. Altogether a decent team performance and setup was amongst the better ones I've had thanks to Andy's help. 4View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

I knew qual was very important and just managed to make the needed lap times for q3. The race start was difficult as firstly I had contact with a GS car and later on lost momentum totally by going wide on the worst possible place. At that point I was p14 and 15 seconds behind already, but thanks to some weird incidents and a few overtakes on track and another few in the pits I made it to P5 and eventually P4. Also I think this is TMo's best WC result ever so congrats to the team for that, looking forward to Sepang.5View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2010-04-04Malaysia Sepang, Malaysia 2011 GT Omega RacingWC2010P8P7Comment: Overall I'm happy to finally manage a race without issues, too long since the last time. Qualifying was tight and I improved crucial tenths on the last run to take 8th. Start went perfect and I climbed a further place, from where on the race was pretty much status quo. Managed to control Puumalainen behind me and had to overtake Bengtsson who was on 1 stop strategy. Towards the end the gap started closing to Greco, but it wasn't enough. Apart from slight understeer in stint 1 the setup was perfect, so I'm really pleased to see the young guys could make use of it and score a historical 1-2-3. Considering my performance, the track has never suited me very well. In that sense P7 is pretty much a maximal result, especially considering the level of the guys ahead. 2010-04-11China Shanghai, China 2011 Estrada-DHR S...WC2010P11P5Comment: Moderately satisfied with the result. Again, I just tried to keep out of trouble most of the race to finally score some points for DHR, which believe me, wasn't easy in today's chaotic field.
Qualifying was again tight and despite a close to pb time I managed only an 11th place, from which I knew there would be problems in the the first laps. Got rammed into the side a few times by driver x, spun and was last of the non-pitted guys at one point. Thereafter pace was very good, managed to overtake a bunch of drivers and keep in the slipstream of Huis. In the final laps weird things happened and I was suddenly 7th, and almost caught 6th when Disley's engine blew.
I'm glad for the points scored for DHR, which were the first for the team since joining WC last season. Time for a short brake and then Barca, looking forward to that track.10View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2010-04-25Spain Catalunya, Spain 2011 Estrada-DHR S...WC2010P18P7Comment: Happy to finish in points again after all problems. Qualifying brought worst result since Monaco 2007, car was very tricky to drive in S3 somehow. At the start my team-mate braked late and I had to avoid through the sandbank, losing further time, but luckily escaped damage.

From thereon race pace turned out to be good in comparison with some "hotlappers", but unfortunately it's very difficult to pass on this circuit. Had a few nice battles and during the last laps I tried to put pressure on De Wit, but his lap times remained identical to mine, just like last year here. Somewhat lucky in the end but that's racing, car set was not up to the usual "Precision standards", so happy with this today and the points scored for DHR.6View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

Unfortunately Morris stalled his car in the fast chicane, exactly at the blind spot after the corner, resulting in an unavoidable heavy crash, otherwise would have been P7. 2010-05-23Turkey Istanbul, Turkey 2011 Estrada-DHR S...WC2010P15P8Comment: Difficult race, spent almost all laps behind other cars, which cost a lot of time. In the final part I had some great fighting with Morris, nice moves but no contact, very good fighting I have to say, thanks for that.
The end result is a bit disappoing as empty track pace was enough to challenge for fourth, but the top speed unfortunately wasn't very competitive this time. Looking forward towards Montreal, nice track.4View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2010-06-06Canada Montreal, Canada 2011 Estrada-DHR S...WC2010P20P10Comment: I had somewhat higher expectations for this track but already after testing I knew my pace was simply not as good as it had been on the Tilke tracks, still got few things to sort out with slow-speed cornering in this mod.

After a difficult qualifying race went pretty ok, cars spun and crashed in front and behind and I managed to climb into P9. In the last 10 laps I tried to pass Euler but he had the same top speed as myself in slipstream so wasn't really possible. In the last laps my front brake failed unexpectedly and almost ran out of fuel as well, considering that I'm lucky to get 1 point.

Valencia should be a nice track for our setup, which hopefully shows in the result.1View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2010-06-20Europe Valencia, Europe 2010 Estrada-DHR S...WC2010P14P16Comment: Another race which did not exactly go into history books from my part. After a better qualifying (read: still not as it should be) I had high hopes for the race, but unfortunately Blair came slightly too fast into the turn 1 queue and hit me quite heavily, resulting in damage and an extra pit stop.
From there on car and pace felt reasonable but already too much time was lost to the front. In the last part I tried to get past Dominguez quickly, which didn't end too well, but max result would have been P12 anyway. After an okay lap in qualifying my expectations were higher, but after the first few laps I got stuck behind Florian whose race pace was clearly slower. Obviously I tried to pass him quickly which ended badly, no room left into Brooklands and contact, causing a spin and costing about 6 seconds. In the last stint I wanted at least to try catch Dominguez but due to strategic compromise my tires were severly worn, ending up with some sort of puncture on the last lap. Time for some short vacation and hopefully with fresher mind towards Hocke.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2010-07-18Germany Hockenheim, Germany 2010 Estrada-DHR S...WC2010P13P7Comment: Happy to be back in the points after a few difficult races. Qualifying time was good but the position not, from where on the first laps were difficult as usual (almost ramming into Florian due to late braking, but luckily he avoided). This time, however, I got past cars quicker and an early first stop on lap 13 worked perfectly, giving some breathing space.

Before the last pit stops I was within distance of Poniatowski but decided to pit later than him this time, hoping to gain on him in the final laps. When re-joining 4 seconds behind it seemed like a fail, but I was able to regain the seconds in the remaining laps and eventually improve one position. Towards the end some contact with Rietveld caused small damage and P8 was out of reach.6View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2010-08-15Hungary Hungaroring, Hungary 2011 Estrada-DHR S...WC2010P11P8Comment: P8 is pretty much what I expected from Hungary, but due to a damaged car it required more an effort than usual. After a standard qualifying cars were having problems to fit into T4, causing some rear-end damage which took a while to get used to. After that the race was pretty quiet until Prevot with newer tyres braked a little too late, bending my car further. The two-stop strategy worked reasonably and I was able to keep Greco behind during the last laps despite of severly worn tires and almost running out of fuel. Overall this result was as expected (probably one higher position would have been possible without damage).

2010-08-22Belgium Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium 2011 Estrada-DHR S...WC2010P14P9Comment: This race brought nothing but some more grey hair, lackluster position after lackluster performing. At the beginning I expected drivers to collide but since that didn't happen I was stuck, pitted a lap too late and got stuck in some Precision Motorsports sandwich (= some very slow cars). Due to a queue forming into Bus Stop I almost collided with Lee but I decided it was better to half-spin than take him out. After that my pace continued slow, but since the usual drivers retired I could finish top 10 for the eight time this season, which wasn't very well deserved this time. Apparently for the remaining season I better just focus on fighting with Puumalainen for most finished laps per races driven. I used to be quick in Monza in the past decade but we'll see about that now...2View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2010-09-05Italy Monza, Italy 2011 Estrada-DHR S...WC2010P11P6Comment: This was a bit better, finishing behind my own team's cars (they are always fast somehow) and Twister-Racing drivers is hardly embarrassing, but neither something to jump in the air about.
The start was good and I gained some ground, but got stuck early in some 3-way battle with Morris, Hirrle and Tali - luckily no damage. Later some battles took place betwen Lee, again quite fair I would say, but cost me some extra time due to his lag.
After a nifty pit stop I managed to get ahead of Hirrle who had some issues and from there on, when my car started working very well, there was unfortunately no more slipstream available. Managed to keep status quo to Marques and Tali but not catch them, hence finishing 7th for the 4th time this season. Some important points for DHR anyway.8View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2010-09-19Singapore Singapore, Singapore 2010 Estrada-DHR S...WC2010P10P10Comment: One of the most difficult races in my humble career. At the start I lost a place to Mikko and later to De Wit who attempted some 50-50 move into turn 8. After driving behind the queue most of the first stint Muhammed kindly let me pass, but after the first pit stops I spent most of the race behind Disley.

When Muhammed pitted for the second time early I was forced to react, which gave me a too long final stint in order to have any chances of passing Disley. Instead I started losing my point of reference behind him, hitting anti-cuts few times here and there. At the end of the race all sorts of pains started appearing in different places, so I'm glad to have finished the torture, but felt it could have been rewarded by some more points.

Congratulations to Bono who did the best possible job with this year's mod, and to my team Precision for a flawless season.1View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

After the first lap things were looking bright with cars eliminating themselves in the chicane, but into T1 I watched some car in my mirrors too closely and braked just late enough to lose my front wing on Mikko's car, and consequently had to drive the whole lap around. The rest of the race was cruising with a badly damaged car and nothing but waiting for the chequered flag. Good points lost this time but I guess this happens every once in a while.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2010-10-17Brazil Interlagos, Brazil 2011 Ash RacingWC2010P8P8Comment: This race was another quite interesting one, although very frustrating from the cockpit, being stuck for most of the race behind cars who slipstreamed other cars. After a good qualifying I took it too easy in the start and lost a few positions. I soon got stuck behind a Trulli-train and decided to pit early for my first stop, which has worked before this season.
Things went swiftly until my second pit stop, whereafter I emerged behind De Wit and Patel. I lost probably some 10 seconds fighting with both, but at least it was very fair and exciting. Towards the end I had no boost remaining and Disley was again just clever enough to pass me on the penultimate lap, nothing I could have done there. Thanks to Ash for letting me drive on short notice, looking forward towards the season end.4View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2010-10-31United Arab Emirates Yas Marina, UAE 2011 Precision Mot...WC2010P12P8Comment: This race might as well have served as a metaphor of my whole season. In qualifying I managed my second fastest lap ever on this circuit, which unsurprisingly was only enough for P12. The race start was difficult due to some bizarre lag at times, which made it difficult to defend for positions and later on some wheel banging with Kerkhof cost me further time. Towards the end I had to drive 110% to catch the pack for the final points but miserably failed, and even after spinning I was too slow so it didn't really matter. Time for re-charge and resurrection.4View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2011-04-03Bahrain Sakhir, Bahrain 2011 Ash RacingWC2011P9P10Comment: The season start was pretty positive in terms of qualifying pace, as I made it to the top 10 with a poor lap. The race start went better than expected and I climbed into P7, but unfortunately I was overly careful and let De Wit past, after which my re-overtaking attempt ended in us touching and me spinning. From there on I lost a lot of time behind slower cars which took me longer to pass than expected, but eventually the effort was enough for 1 point, which without the incident surely could have been a couple of more.1View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2011-04-10Australia Melbourne, Australia 2011 Ash RacingWC2011P5P4Comment: Happy to finally be back in podium contention after a difficult 2010 season. I knew I had the pace in Q1, but still almost ended outside the top 10. In Q2 I had no expectations, so it was a big surprise to end up P5 with an average lap.

After qualifying I knew that the race was a matter of defending and strategy due to the dirty air. Got up to 4th at the start and basically kept my spot for the next 57 laps, including a well-timed pit stop. There was close fighting between Jaakko and Fredrik a couple of times, quite on the limit but still fair I would say.

During the second half of the race I became increasingly worried about my engine, having been forced to use higher revs while defending. After nursing the engine for the whole second stint I fortunately made it to the finish, but unfortunately the engine started smoking on final lap, which cost all the top speed and a position to Nilsson after a great pass from him.

Overall this was a fantastic result for Aero F1 and also served as a boost for myself after ducking around deep in the snow for most of last season. Hopefully this race also cleared some doubts regarding the fact that I only work for Precision on track, as a few opponents pointed out to me before the season start.

Qualifying P4 was surprising, as the car was sideways a couple of times.
In the race start I left the door too open for Greco who passed me into T3 after which he defended his position well on the backstraight. 2011-05-15Turkey Istanbul, Turkey 2011 Ash RacingWC2011P14P9Comment: Knowing that I struggle on this track, it was not surprising to end outside top 10 in Q1, but unfortunately it compromised my strategy, which was dependant on making a good lap in Q2 on medium tires.

In the race overtaking was difficult as expected, especially with my tire choice which forced slightly conservative driving. Nevertheless, there were plenty of enjoyable moments, especially battles with Tali, De Wit and Keithley. After a late pit stop I had to take some calculated risks to reach top 10 which finally succeeded after passing Keithley and De Wit in the closing stages.

Overall not a good race in terms of pace, points mainly came thanks to strategic driving.2View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2011-05-22Malaysia Sepang, Malaysia 2011 Ash RacingWC2011P7P11Comment: Again, my preparations were rather limited, so was really pleased with my Q2 time, which I had hoped to be enough for slightly higher than P7, but the level was tough.

In the race a few drivers were again trying to win the race on lap 1, which cost me multiple positions and some car health. Later on I had multiple squabbles with De Wit, some of them slightly naughty, which cost another few positions due to mistake, forcing me to re-overtake the whole grid again.

At the end of the day, the pace was somewhat there, but damage and position losses at start of the race resulted in too much time to catch for a point finish.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2011-06-05Spain Catalunya, Spain 2011 GT Omega RacingWC2011P11P9Comment: P13 on the grid, worst qualification of the season, not happy with this. In the race I was preparing for passing a couple of drivers during the pit stop window, but an unfortunate moment with De Angelis who didn't see me resulted in an extra trip to the gravel traps and cost any chance to gain positions during the pits.

During the second part of the race I was able to pass Werdmuller and De Angelis with relative ease, but the progression stopped there. Fortunately 2Fast4U-Racing cars suffered engine & tire problems in the final lap and I was able to pass Disley 50 meter before the chequered flag after almost losing the car in the final corner, which was the only enjoyable moment of this race.

Feeling a bit fuzzy, I was however not able to reach Q2, but considering that the start went rather well. After some scary moments with a car ahead I lost focus and ran wide in the final corner, after which Atze had to make a kung fu maneuver to avoid my car; unfortunately that cost him plenty of time.

Things were going a bit too well until Tali returned to the race track after hitting the wall in the final corner. Second-guessing him turned out to be difficult, resulting in a heavy hit and damage that consequently cost me positions to Melim and De Wit. Anyhow, turned out I had bought some faulty RAM to my pc recently, which crashed the thing few seconds after the race finish, so a few points can be considered lucky.4View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2011-07-17Great Britain Silverstone, Great Britain 2011 Ash RacingWC2011P6P10Comment: This was a rather expected performance from me on this type of race track. Before the qualifying I had some technical issues which forced me to join in the last minutes which wasn't ideal obviously.

At the first lap I was forced wide in T1 and later on the same lap I had a massive "handbrake slide" into Club, flipping the car over, but somehow everyone managed to avoid me and no damage took place, so only lost a couple of seconds.

The rest of race was a peaceful and enjoyable experience until Lee made a mistake and ended up behind my gearbox. 2011-08-21Hungary Hungaroring, Hungary 2011 GT Omega RacingWC2011P18P6Comment: This result left some more to hope, but considering my dislike towards the track it was still decent I guess.
After just missing out Q2 I managed to avoid the car wrecks at the start and was able to follow the train lead by De Wit, but unsurprisingly no overtaking was possible. I went for an early pit stop which paid off as I managed to pass Morris, and just missed out a couple of other cars.
During the last part of the race I became increasingly worried of engine wear which compromised my pace somewhat. Lapchin, being on an odd strategy with worn tires, worked well in the favour of Morris, who was able to pass me in the hazzle, but anyhow I guess I have to say it was a great overtaking move from him.
Congrats to Boner for the championship, well driven kid.

2011-09-18Italy Monza, Italy 2011 GhostSpeed Ra...WC2011P14P13Comment: Not the race I was expecting from Monza. I felt a lack of confidence under braking, especially into turn 1, causing problems both in the qualifying and in the race.

I was reasonably happy with my first stint, managing to make up some ground, foremost passing both Twister-Racing cars at the same time on lap 16. The progress, however, stopped when I got stuck behind Lee for what seemed like an eternity. I got my car ahead a couple of times but he always passed me on the following straight, so clearly I failed to make the final decisive move.

After the pit stops things settled down as I was catching the top, spun once, but re-overtook the Twister cars again after their accident. At this point it was, however, too late, as the brakes had taken a too large beating from the earlier battles. After finally making a good Q1 and somewhat less good Q2 I was in a reasonable position, but running slightly wide on the kerb of Degner 1 made the car lose some speed and thus Room to hit my rear, in turn causing him to spin and hit me again. After an extra pit stop I was driving on the limits in order to catch the 40 second deficit to the last point position, and it didn't pay off well.

2011-10-23United Arab Emirates Yas Marina, UAE 2011 GhostSpeed Ra...WC2011P7P7Comment: Happy to get some points after a few difficult rounds. I was a bit too careful at the start and lost positions to the GT Omega cars. My plan was to overtake cars during the pit stops, knowing I had the option to pit earlier with low tire wear. This, however, backfired when Kostadinov's pace started to drop massively, leaving me as a sitting duck behind him for several laps until I eventually made the pass.

Due to this time loss I failed to catch Room for the pit stop, and later had a hairy moment when Gosbee spun in front of me on lap 26. During the remaining 30 laps Room drove very well, so I failed to reach overtaking distance, but nevertheless I am still quite happy with my pace here which was much better than last year.6View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

I had massive problems getting anything out of the car setup on this track, so it was a pleasant surprise to keep up with the top pace in the first stint. I had some nice battle with Morand in the opening laps, but besides that my race was rather boring.
I pitted a couple of laps too early to jump Gosbee, which turned out to be a wrong decision, as I was losing plentiful of time in stint 2 and Gosbee came flying past me. Shame that he had to retire in the closing stages as he was really quick today, but at least there was some points scored to GhostSpeed, and thanks to Pedro for letting me drive there the last couple of races.

2012-04-08Australia Melbourne, Australia 2013 Faster Than S...WC2012P15P15Comment: My season starts have traditionally been poor and this year made no exception. I was struggling a lot with slower cars ahead in qualifying and only managed to set one decent lap time on the final attempt, which unfortunately was a few tenths off the top 10 this time.

In the race my luck lasted two corners, after which a blue car, I reckon Masciulli, spun in front of me, leaving no room and time for reaction. After front-wing repairs I was already 40 seconds behind the point battles, so I decided to drive safely and hope for retirements. Unfortunately none came, so I finished on the same position as where I started at.

It was a shame I couldn't score points for Faster Than Speed in my debut, but I think the next few tracks should suit my style better, as I struggle at the moment with riding the kerbs the proper way with this mod.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2012-04-22Malaysia Sepang, Malaysia 2012 Faster Than S...WC2012P11P11Comment: I was relatively pleased with my qualifying lap, which was almost enough for Q2, but got knocked out in the closing seconds.

The race turned out quite difficult, since I had to drive in a queue for most of the time, with very few overtaking opportunities. That means most of the results would be decided in the pits. Unfortunately I was not able to make more than one good pit stop due to various issues (closing my monitor accidentally, traffic), which at the end cost me probably a couple of positions. In the last pit stops I managed to pass Brljak after finally having luck with a 6 second duriation. The time lost behind him meant I was not able to catch the cars ahead anymore.

The end result was frustrating but in hindsight I went wrong with the car setup in a few aspects. With that in mind, I'm confident to fight for higher positions and score the first points for FTS once I manage a 100% solid effort with preparation and the race.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2012-05-06China Shanghai, China 2012 Faster Than S...WC2012P8P5Comment: I'm very happy with this result, first points for FTS were long overdue!

I had a solid Q1 lap and the Q2 lap began very well, but the race setup didn't feel as stable as the setup I used for Q1 and a few mistakes cost me a couple of positions, hence 8th place on grid.
During the start I again had latency issues with cars warping past on both sides, lost 3 positions. With overtaking in the queue being nearly impossible, I made a calculated risk to pit one lap earlier than what my fuel allowed. This worked swiftly and suddenly I found myself in P4, just a couple of seconds behind Jaakko.

In the remaining race I had to compromise somewhat because of my earlier first pit stop. I was able to keep Baldi behind until the final pit stops where he jumped me. Later he made a mistake making it easy for me to re-pass. The next lap we were alongside in turn 6, unfortunately I had no room and was forced wide over the kerb. I think the move was a bit against the rules, but I take it as a lack of experience from the driver, so I feel no need to protest it this time.

In the final laps I was a bit worried about Lapchin, but luckily he made a couple of mistakes which made it easy enough for me to finish fifth. Overall this was almost an optimal result, minus the one place lost, so this definitely increased my confidence after a difficult start to the season.10View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

For the race I had mixed expectations, as the balance on worn tires felt poor in practise. I got a reasonable get-away but lost a place to Room in turn 1. After the first 10 laps I knew it would be difficult to keep P4. I managed that until first pit stops, but shortly afterwards Morand, who was much quicker, got past.

Before the final stops I had nice battle with Tali, but due to pitting one lap later he emerged ahead. At this point I decided to save brakes and remain outside the Mikkonen-Tali battle to be able to finish. This turned out to work as planned, as both Tali and Morand lost brake power in the closing stages, allowing me to pass both on the final lap.

P5 is a good result at the end of the day, although a podium was possible with a more stable race setup. Hopefully I can keep the momentum for Silverstone which has traditionally been a difficult circuit for me.10View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2012-06-17Great Britain Silverstone, Great Britain 2012 Faster Than S...WC2012P7P5Comment: A good weekend overall on a track I used to struggle on. In qualifying I did two good laps, nothing stellar, which was enough for 7th place on the grid.
In the race I had a good start, overtaking Masciulli on the line. Knowing that Nilsson was probably on a 3 stop strategy, I had in mind to pass him as early as possible. I was able to get alongside him into Stowe and complete the pass in Club, which was the key move it turned out.
After this I could focus catching the ATR cars in front. I made a slight error before my first pit stops, which cost some time, but after the second pit stops I was able to get past both ATR cars. At this point I wasn't yet aware that they were doing 1 stop less than me. With hindsight, I could perhaps have pushed a bit more at this stage. After my final stop, the gap to Rietveld ahead was over 10 seconds, which meant I could cruise to finish at 5th.
Overall this was one of the best weekends I had in the last couple of years in terms of absolute race pace. This is an encouraging sign that a few podiums might be at hands if the circumstances fall together later in the season.10View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2012-07-15Hungary Hungaroring, Hungary 2012 Faster Than S...WC2012P7P9Comment: I knew qualifying on this track would be very important and unfortunately I lost just the needed tenth to get into top 10 this time, ending up as P14.
The race got more difficult in turn 3, as accidents ahead forced me to brake a bit earlier, resulting in heavy contact with Kanitz from behind. I decided to pit on lap 6 with a badly bent car to avoid losing more time and convert to a 6 stop strategy.
The strategy worked reasonably well, as I was able to catch the cars ahead constantly. On my second last pit stop, I just failed to jump Patel, which then left me blocked with newer tires for another 10 laps. At the final stop, I was able to jump Disley and later Patel after his brake issues emerged, thus finishing the race in P9.
Reflecting on the championship, I had hoped for a bit better result, but the race was largely over after the poor qualifying and first lap incident. After this, any points were a welcome bonus.2View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2012-08-05Spain Valencia, Spain 2012 Faster Than S...WC2012P5P10Comment: This was one of the most difficult races I can remember. I had a decent qualifying, a couple of small mistakes cost 2 positions which meant I started 5th.
In the first corner I chose the outside line, which cost me one position. A turn later Peter Varga forgot to brake in time, which took out myself and 3 other cars. On the same lap I had a couple of other scary moments, which all damaged my car somewhat. From there on I had to recover from the back of grid, which my setup wasn't made for at all, as the maximum downforce configuration meant I had no top speed.
I consequently decided to pit once more than the drivers around me in order to pass them that way. I was not as lucky as in last round with this stratagy as I caught several slower drivers. Before my 2nd last stop, I caught Varga and had no opportunity to pass him, until he decided to pit same lap as me, allowing me to overtake him on the pit entry. A lap later he repassed me, but I was able to retake the place with a somewhat lucky move to turn 1.
I hope Spa will bring a normal race without incidents, as I felt I had the pace to fight for fourth place, but this race provided nothing more than an exercise in slipstream driving.1View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2012-08-12Belgium Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium 2011 Faster Than S...WC2012P14P23Comment: Another unfortunate race. I had a bit higher hopes for qualification, but I narrowly lost out of Q2 and ended up P17 in the sickly close field.
I knew I was in trouble starting the race from almost back of the grid, with slightly less top speed than ideal. I past a couple of drivers on the first lap, but soon lost the places back, as I realized it was pointless to defend against drivers who would fly past the straight anyway. Things got complicated further as Jaakko and Disley got past me. They were both quite slow in the twisty sections and had their own internal battle which almost saw me spinning as well in Blachimont.
As a consequence, Thomas Cooke caught as both which was the end of my race, as he clearly forgot to brake in time, taking both me and Jaakko out in turn 1.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2012-09-16Germany Nurburgring, Germany 2012 Faster Than S...WC2012P9P5Comment: Overall this was a good race. In qualifying I did again not manage to get all sectors together, which meant ending outside the top 10 as 12th.
In the start I was lucky as Parisis and Brljak had contact, which I just escaped. A couple of laps later Aalberts ran wide in front of me, again just barely avoided contact. I was then hoping to get past De Wit as soon as possible, as I quickly realized he was running a 3-stop strategy with more fuel, but overtaking on this track proved to be difficult.
After the half-point I was aiming for 6th-7th place finish when suddenly Keithley and Morand had their moment. After the final stops. my gap to De Wit was 5 seconds with 10 laps left to go. I decided to play safe and save brakes, but in the end it turned out I was catching him quicker than expected, so decided to go for a final push. This was not enough, so a fifth place result once again, which seems to be my lucky number this year.
Hopefully the season will continue in similar terms at Suzuka - a track I consider my personal favourite.10View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2012-09-30Japan Suzuka, Japan 2012 Faster Than S...WC2012P11P13Comment: Not the ideal weekend this time. A decent qualifying lap was not enough to start in top 10, but I was not too worried, starting in P11. In the first corner I managed to pass a couple of cars on the outside to take P9. At this point I found myself behind a queue of the 3-stopping De Wit and Lapchin, while everyone else, including me, was on 4 stoppers.
After the first pit stops I lost some ground and later on lost focus momentarily in Degner 1 on lap 15, which caused a scary 360 degree spin. Very lucky to have come out of that with only a 3 seconds time loss. This meant I had to pass De Wit again, which I did a couple of laps later into turn 1.
At this point I had lost too much ground to the 4-stoppers ahead, so the remaining race turned out to be a battle with Fredrik Nilsson. Towards the end of the race he overtook me with a brilliant move into the chicane, which meant finishing outside the points this time. Overall a quite unimpressive weekend, but still a couple of good tracks remaining.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2012-10-07South Korea Yeongam, Korea 2012 Faster Than S...WC2012P6P9Comment: It was good to be able to score a couple of points in FTS' 200th WC Race. Despite I consider myself a veteran in this sport, it's still somewhat special to be driving for a team that has existed ever since the start of FSR.

Regarding my race, I was not feeling confident at all prior to the event, which reflected in my qualifying result, not making it to the top 10. In the first stint there was not much to do, so I decided to pit a lap earlier, which meant I avoided a chaos situation and gained a couple of places. In the second stint I felt a bit more confident and was able to pass Patel during the pit stops. With Masciulli running on a slightly different strategy, I quickly caught him up in my final stint and managed to pass him after some wheel-to-wheel moments. In the final lap I caught Kostadinov, who had some sort of an issue, thus finishing in P9.2View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2012-10-21United Arab Emirates Abu Dhabi, UAE 2012 Faster Than S...WC2012P8P9Comment: I didn't have high hopes for this track, so the end result was about where I expected to be.
In qualifying I again just missed out of Q2, as usual by a small margin. Anyway, this allowed me to experiment with the strategy and go for a 3-stopper instead of 4 stops.
The strategy turned out to help me quite a bit. Even though it cost me positions at the start, I was able to keep up with the battling 4-stopper group quite easily. In fact the battling cars ahead were somewhat slower. Anyhow, this strategy meant it was no point to try risky overtakes and waste more time, so I just waited for everyone to pit and continued on a steady pace. During the final pit stops Tali lost surprisingly much time somewhere, meaning I could jump him and eventually finish 9th.
One more race to go, hopefully the season ends on a high note on one of my favourite tracks. 2View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2012-11-04Brazil Interlagos, Brazil 2012 Faster Than S...WC2012P9P7Comment: This was a good finish to the season, nothing brilliant, but again where I expected to be.
In qualifying I had a bit limited preparations. Considering that getting into Q2 was a nice surprise. In Q2 the race setup did not perform as expected; this is one area I will need to improve on for next year.

In the race I managed to keep my position through the first laps after some fighting with Disley. Later on there was a massive queue with Baldi, Kostadinov and Puumalainen, none of which I could overtake, so I decided to do the undercut this time and pit a lap earlier. This worked well at first, as I got past a couple of car in the pits and later on Puumalainen and Baldi had their moment, promoting me to sixth.

In the final two stints I had to focus really hard to keep my position due to running longer stints at the end, which compromised my pace. Kostadinov pitted 2-3 laps later which gave him fresh tires with less fuel, making it an easy pass. After some focused driving I managed to keep Mikko behind me to eventually finish 7th.

This was a good season overall, better than the last two ones, especially in qualifying pace. I wish to thank Faster Than Speed and Christian Smirnoff for letting me drive the whole season in their team as a loan driver. Now my batteries are empty and I can only hope for a new simulator platform next year to regain the same motivation for yet another season.6View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2013-04-07Australia Melbourne, Australia 2013 GT Omega RacingWC2013P8P11Comment: Disappointing race, as the car had the pace to finish around 4th-6th with ease. I was not quick enough in Q1 and in the race when the car felt great, I always had a car ahead of me. Towards the end of the race I caught Rasmus and went for the move quickly in order to preserve my tire advantage, but ran wide and lost all chances for a point finish. Well, this seems to be how the season starts have been going for me the last 3-4 years. Hopefully the situation changes quickly. Well done to Bono and the team anyway.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2013-04-21Bahrain Shakir, Bahrain 2013 GT Omega RacingWC2013P9P5Comment: This result was a nice way to end my rFactor career. I didn't feel I had the pace to get into Q2, but I got a lap with sectors together which turned out to be enough. I opted to not run a lap in Q2 in order to save the tires; with hindsight this was a mistake, as many other drivers made big mistakes on their laps.

Starting from P9, I managed to avoid a heavy collision in turn 2. After losing a position early in the race, I managed to pass Lapchin in the opening stint, but still lost a lot of time being stuck in a queue of drivers. Luckily some drivers made mistakes or opted to pit early, which meant I finally got a clear track in sixth place around lap 15.

At this point I tried to put pressure on Kostadinov, but he seemed a bit quicker in the first part of a race. After a mistake of his I just managed to get ahead and keep the gap around 1 seconds, as our pace was virtually identical. The battle got a bit complicated by a couple of backmarkers, but overall it was very enjoyable and I'm quite happy to finish sixth after such a close race. I'm a bit disappointed I got stuck early in the race, as the podium was only 10 seconds away, but this was a good finish nevertheless.

On towards new challenges...10View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
