While the result in Turkey was less then "Media image" desirable the team gained valuable experience in many areas. In practice TMo driver Michael Theis was right where they expected, mid pack and looking for that last second of the pace. Chasing setups right to the beginning of qualifying made it difficult to get a solid feel for the car. “We made a lot of changes right in the last ten minutes of practice which gained a whole second a lap” Test Driver Jason Shrewsbury states. In qualifying Theis had a spin which sent him to the pits, on his only hot lap he only managed to post a time only good enough for 17th. However the start of the race had a few good fortunes in store. After an excellent start Theis managed weed his way craftily through the pack to gain nine positions and up to 8th. Mid way in the fifth lap fighting for 7th place with one of the Faster Then Speed drivers, Theis got to zealous in turn eleven and spun into the wall. “Was a shame, the car was really coming to life with the last minute setup changes.” Theis exclaims.
Looking forward however to the official TMo launch debut at Monza in a few weeks TMo has a full head of steam to head into Italy with. “I am very excited to run the new EVA-06-C chassis at Monza, I expect a points finish for TMo’s debut in Italy.” Theis remarked. Take what they learned in Hungry and Turkey, add in a new chassis and possibly another driver and I think we’ll be in for an excellent debut showing for Torrent Motorsports. Good luck in Monza!
