"Well, it was a race to forget for me. All the hard winter testings gave me a confident feeling, as my pace was fast and consistent. During yesterdays race, I was slower because I was very nervous all the time. I knew that if I do a mistake, the work of about 3 month is gone.

On qualifying, I took it easy and did 2 safe laps, that gave me a top-5 position. I was happy with it as I knew that we will be very good starters. After turn 1 I was 3rd already and right behind David and Roy. In the following laps I could not follow those guys. I lost to much time as I was going to safe just to finish the race easily. My pace was still enough for a top 3 position.

On lap 12 I did a small mistake. That way I lost 1 position to Patrick de Wit, who was also very fast. Just 5 laps later, Roy and Patrick were going into the pits and it was time for me to push and gain some time which was not possible, as I got a lapped car infront of me. I lost grip while being behind him and had a bad slide which was overheating my tyres. I should have driven more careful after that, as in the next 2 laps I spun because of overheated tyres and lost 20 seconds doing two 1m36sec laps.

My first pitstop was on lap 24 and I came back out as 4th with just a few seconds behind Patrick de Wit. The race continued quiet peacefully then. On lap 39, my race began to be a nightmare. I spun in the second chicane and my rear wing was off. Also my rear suspension had some severe damage. Because I didn’t want to loose to much time I pushed on my way back to the pits, which was a bad idea, as I spun another 3 times on my way to the crew. I did a lap of 3m14sec and was 9th. I lost 5 positions. On the pits, my crew did a mistake and didn’t fuel me up enough. That meant I had to come in once again.

From that on, the car was a nightmare to drive. On straights it was pulling hard to the left. In lap 53 I did my last pitstop, just a splash and dash. I just wanted to cruise this wrack home but the suspension problems got worse. That way, I came on the gravel by braking into the second chicane and spun off once more which cost me the front wing. As it happened in the end, I was driving over the line without a front wing.

All in all, a race to forget. I am really sorry for the team that I have shown such a bad performance. I mean, they believed in me and I got the world championship drivers contract. I did so much testing to satisfy my boss and tested like a maniac. I think we did more then 1600 laps on Melbourne. I don’t have to mention how frustrating such a result is.

"I was surprised to be 3rd in Qualifying as I really didn't do much practice and with my race strategy I was quite confident to take a spot on the podium. My start was pretty good but when I wanted too much in T1 I was braking too late and I understeered into the grass so that some drivers could slip through. In lap 2 when I was behind Schmalenbach in 4th I lost downforce in the last turn and spun into the pitlane(!) but could go on without damage. After this unintended drive through I found myself in 9th. Then I was working my way up passing several cars (that was actually very funny) and before my 1st regular stop I was already 4th again. After I came out I was 5th I think and in lap 24 my teammate did his first stop and he joined in right in front of me. In lap 25 I was only some tenths behind Sebastian and I tried to attack him but again I lost downforce in the turn before the fast chicane and I spun hitting the barrier braking my rear wing. Race over for me but I'm not as disappointed as my teamie as he worked really hard for this race, so my feelings are with him. Congrats to Roy and David for a Kiwi 1-2 and thanks to the team and our sponsors Red Bull, Coca Cola and F1 Racing for their great support! Onto Malaysia!"

"Shit lag.......every race there was lag....for some seconds all were ghost....it's absurd. Sorry Dennis and the other m8 for formation lap....but you were ghost...i reduce velocity and try to keep beside but nothing when you were visible it was too late.......For the race after a very bad qual over 1.2sec slower....i had a great setup and strategy....but i started from pit 30sec later....however i'm happy for my first point, thanks to my team for support......Bahrein and Malaysia are gone....now there are only tracks that i like."

"Have to say that it was a pity to end my race that soon, I had a fantastic start from 11 to 6 I think..... but I missed braking point in corner 3 and I was afraid I could hit Sebastian so I surely overbraked not to hit him and lost my car. Didn't have clutch set on wheel and so end of story. A real pity as I had problems with FPS in quals which I solved in race and I think I could have had load of fun. A podium would have been impossible considering I saw the MOD for the first time on friday night but I think I had enough speed in race to fight for points and have fun.
But anyway I would have had to esc the race in a few laps 'cause of time probs so, nothing would have changed.
Congratulations to Roy for his win and to David for a great debut... being italian hope he can really bring home the title.

"Qualifying was rubbish for me, and out of all the drivers on the grid, you can safely bet on me having the least amount of prep time during preseason testing, I probably only did about 50-60 laps prior to the race! And that isn't easy when you have very fast teammates who have done a mammoth amount of testing each. About the race, well I jumped the start and stalled for the first time ever, but that was because my cat wanted to be over-cuddly with me and picked the worst time ever to jump up on my lap and dig his claws in my leg, just after the 5th light lit up. So, race 1 ended with me not racing at all. "
