Comment: Q1: 16.475, good enough for P2.
Q2: 18.394, not very good compared to my tests, P5 after penalties.

Race:

After getting ahead of Karol at the start I took it pretty easy on the first lap. I was surprised to see Dodo go in to the pits on Lap 1, at first I thought maybe he jumped the start by accident but after the race I heard of his problem. For sure he had the pace to beat us all, bad luck again.

After the first few laps I noticed Elmer & Nebojsa couldn't pull away from me so I started to believe in the victory since I was quite sure everyone around me was on a 3 stopper compared to my 2 stop.

Karol was right behind me for the whole first stint, I wasn't very confident in my abilities to defend on this track because I was consistantly making mistakes in testing. I was able to keep a consistant pace and keep him behind until the first stops.

After my pitstop I rejoined behind Karol and started to lose time to the guys in front because I now had ~15L more fuel than them. Stefan caught me after maybe 10 laps and was right behind me like Karol, but I was able to hold my pace and hold him behind until he pitted.

After my last stop I kept monitoring my gap to Nebojsa, tried to push harder so that I could have as big a gap as possible to him when he pitted. After he pitted with 15 or so laps remaining he rejoined about 7 seconds behind me so I knew he would definitely catch me before the end.

On lap 55 he was 1.5 seconds behind me, but I could keep my concentration and hit the important apexes so that he couldn't get a run on me.

As we started the last lap I was almost as nervous as during the start, but after clearing S1 I knew I could keep him behind. To my surprise Nebojsa's engine blew right after Stowe and of course then all the pressure lifted off completely. I turned down the revs and just cruised to the line.

For sure my best drive ever, a lot of pressure with Karol, Stefan and Nebojsa following me. No mistakes and solid pace right from the start.

I wish I would've had the words in the press conference to describe how good it feels to be a part of this team, but luckily Dennis spoke those words for all of us in the WC press conference.

Now for a very nicely timed 3 week break, see you all in Nurburgring.

Comment: I'm very disappointed about this result, especially as my pace was fairly good for once. My qualifying wasn't good, bad times in both sessions but still 6th on the grid. The opening laps didn't go to plan either, and I lost some places and got two hits from Shaun which made the car very difficult to drive. I finally passed Shaun a bit later but took yet another hit in doing so - my car was pretty screwed basically. Finishing 7th was definitely not what I had in mind even though this has always been one of my least favourite tracks.

I'm also sad for Nebo and Elmer, they both deserved a lot more. We have to be encouraged by our pace, and again congratulate Twister - especially Mikko - on an incredible performance.

Comment: Moved to drive for Roaldo Renegade, great team! Practiced a little more as usual, as my motivation was gutted before. Roaldo Racing gave me back my motivation. Still need more practice next races to get back around the podium again. That's my goal.

Anyway, went well this race.. Qualified just outside top 10 with 1-2 tenths in p12.. Race went well, very solid.. Went for a 2 stopper which was decent, but not fast at all though, the car felt slow.

Happy with the points.

Comment: Not the result I had hoped for. I felt I had the pace to be quite competitive here P3 in Q1 which is usually my worst part of the weekend says something about it.

In Q2 I opted for a two stopper with a short first stint. Had hoped to run a 18.2 or 18.1 on a great lap but I was a little disturbed into Stowe and got out of rythm. Didn't exactly nail the last sector either and had to start from P8.

And didn't get away well and was under attack immidiately. Had to lift big in Maggots when two cars tangled a little and my exit to Hanger straight was a disaster and I was passed into Stowe with some ease. P11 then and there.

Then I ran out of talent. Came up close to Bolier after a good run in the last sector. Got his slipstream but didn't lift enough for Copse. Ran in too hot too close and lost grip on the front wheels, onto the kerb and spun out. Was hit by Kaasa and lost the engine. I had to think fast and managed to time it into 1st at the right moment in my spin to restart the engine. By then all cars had passed. In the inlap I had huge handling issues and thought it was over but noticed to my great surprise only the rear wing had damage. A slow inlap and 29 seconds in the pit later I was out a minute behind and in P19 as Kaasa had retired.

Had to start pushing of course. My nearest competitor was 45 seconds down the road and I had changed my strategy to fuel up 70 litres. Wasn't easy to keep pace but somehow I managed to close in the gap and avoid getting lapped. Pitted for a scheduled stop on lap 24 and came out just infront of the leader. Had done some thinking and changed to fuel short for this stint to avoid getting a lap behind and to get some momentum again. Worked like a charm. 18.5 and then constantly 19.1 all stint long. Overtook one car into Abbey, flew past and kept going. Pushed like mad of course as I figured I could still get a top ten.

Last stop, 68 litres, sluggish shit to drive. Kept pushing but with less hope as the cars ahead were 24 seconds down the road and I wasn't gaining with my brim full machine. But they pitted and I was only 4 behind all of a sudden. Lost half a second while they burned off the best from the new tyres. From then I was quicker. The car worked great on low fuel and worn rubber so I caught them tenth by tenth. Got half a chance on Kiriakopoulos in bridge on lap 59 but he defended well into Priory. Stayed behind and decided to go for the pass at Stowe. I kept a safe distance thru Copse, carried momentum thru becketts, chapel, maggots and made sure to get one hell of an exit to the straight. Slipstrream, Denis goes inside to block, I go outside to make the pass and pull it off around the outside. Half a lap to go, P9 is too far away. I just had to make sure not to do anything stupid like surrender the position right back. No further events worth mentioning. P10 should have been alot better but I'm still quite pleased with my drive bar that mistake in Copse. The pass on the last lap made my day, although it's a shame I had to pull it off against a friend.
Also sorry that Petter got caught up in my mess, he's nice guy and deserved better today.

Team did a great weekend as always. Podium lockout and all five Twisters in the top ten despite myself and Dodo running into different problems early in the race.

Comment: I had not drived for some days and joined the server a few minutes before we started Q1, so I got no laps to test. but surpricingly I still got into top 5.
After Q1, I had to start to make a race setup as I had none cus I had not planed to race. I think I got one lap in testing before Q2, and that was enough to make sure that the 7th gear was not overreving.

In Q2 I was struggling in S1 as I had never drived with race fuel and lost almost 6 thents to pole alreay there, and a thent in S2, but gained one bak in S3, and that got me 5th, only 6 thents behind pole, wich was a very big surprice, as I was expectiong everyone to go under 18's in Q2...

As I was not planing to race today, but got told that I had a +10 grid penalty from Turkey, I desided to race, but actually only to do first lap and to retire, only in case I wanted to race later the season...But cus Dave talked with me before the race, I said that I would see how the strat was before I took my final desission if I would try to finish or just retire...

unfortunatly in T1 on lap 2, Joakim got a bit wide and on the curb wich made him spinn and I ran into him and lost my frontwing, and this made my desission easy, and just retire when I entered the pit.

ther is no problem Joakim, shit happens and you never know when it happens and can happend everyone, but somehow I can thank you as I didnt want to race, even that it probably sound weird.

I dont know if I will do any more races this season as I have had no motivation whole season except from 2 races... as my practice for Turkey for sure could show as I had only done a bit over 100 laps there after the race, and as well as during my practice and race I was most probalby still drunk from the night before... :P

Maybe I will join you guys in a race or two later, but I dont belive it will be in the next races... Anyway I want you all the best luck the rest of the season, and try to have fun ;)
