"Q P4
R P2

Quite unexpected result to be honest. I didn't feel very competitive going into this race and for a long time I was around P10 in Q before putting together a lap on the last attempt. Missed my PB 0.1. This gave P4 on the grid and first two rows are acceptable in terms of risk for T1 incidents.

The start was pretty good. I took it fairly easy because I know it's tight here and I just wanted to survive the first lap. I gained one spot when Kanitz clipped the barriers on the outside of Ste. Devote and lost his wing. Then there was SC and my tyres went dead. 55 degrees temperature and no grip at all on the restart. It cost me 10 seconds to get the temp back, and I actually gained one spot because Bolier lost his FW on the lap after the restart. Lonely race from there. I drove within myself, was patient with backmarkers and didn't push the car more than I had to at no stage of the race.

I knew the last stint would be tight with Kaasa, but since I know him to be an intelligent and fair competitor I wasn't worried he would try any insane moves. As long as I could make no mistakes and hook up my exits I would finish ahead. That's what I did. Took it easy, braked with a margin to make sure I could hit my apex and get on the power.

Never really had the pace here as I said, but a mature drive with 0 mistakes can pay off alot at this track and that's the sort of drive I managed to produce on a day when many other drivers made unforced errors or had other misfortunes.

"Qualify: 1.13.4 PQ and suddenly realized I was the favourite along with my team mate for the pole. I was really surprised there were so few people in the 1.13's. So in the Qualify there was the pressure for getting the pole. Messed up a few laps and lost the pole with 1.14.0... then I got a better lap in with 1.13.7 which was good enough for Pole.

Race: Boost was stuck in low begin of first lap, but I think Cyril would have passed me anyway, because he had a shorter first gear. So into P2 and then we got the safety car. I tried to do everything to keep my tyres and brakes warm, but it was impossible with the safety car, it was too slow and stopped suddenly a few times around each lap. I was very cautious on the first green lap and got nicely away with Cyril over Joakim in third. Unfortunately one lap later the back-end of the car went in Mireabeau on a bump and I lost my front wing, lap 9. Went into pits and 20 seconds damage repair. All with all lost around 35 seconds in the pit. Then I decided to switch to a 1 stopper and do a 44 lap stint on the tyres to pit as late as possible. From lap 9 on I was 19th and I had some amazing battles. Along with my best overtaking move ever around Witzorreck in Rascasse. Along with the nice commentating of Dennis Hirrle I have a new favourite, my old favourite one was from 2004, so a long time ago! Gonna keep that one. Anyway, had much more hard battles and fought my way back into the top 10, would be too much to write down. Eventually I worked my way up to 5th and stayed there. I realized Petter and me had the pace do a 1-2, but we messed it up unfortunately. Congrats to De Matos for a great win. Thanks to all for the nice battles.

And lastly, I don't wanna brag, but see the move on Witzorreck here :D
