Comment: Q1 : I made 2 attempts with Q1 setup. 1.35.0, enough to be in Q2

Q2 : i wait a long time before doing my Q2 lap. So i didn't push the car to the limit.. 1.35.9.

Race : I made a very good start. Very good reaction time + awesome traction and i was 1.6s in front of Keithley after lap 1.
I pushed the car in the 2 first stints. When i saw my followers are on 5 stops, i decreased the pace to be with the same pace as them in order to preserve the car and the brakes.
After it was a boring race... just sometimes i increased pace to be still awake.
Anyway. GJ for Tali and Keithley

Good result for GS team :) a good race from my teammate starting in the last and finishing in points
I have a little chance now to make some suspense in the championship because Huis did not score

Comment: Considering we had very limited practice for Valencia the result was maximum we could have hoped for. Our pace was not good in any of the sessions and also the damage I got in T1 at the start did not help.

Next week will be SPA, I love this track but dont know if I have time to practice any more than I did for Valencia.

Comment: Q1 - set a slower time than what i had done in WS q1 but it was enough to get into q2

Q2 - was very pleased with my lap time and very happy to get my best ever start in a WC race

Race - got a good start and slotted into P2 behind Morand, and as expected he got a very healthy lead and I was just running my own race at my pace and that good enough to keep me in P2 and slowly over the period of the race, increased my lead over Rasmus by a few tenths every stint so at the start of the last run I had a healthy 3 second lead.

Unfourtunatly I already knew that the best I could finish would have to be P3 as the positions stood at the time, so I had to just keep an eye on the timings and finish where I needed to which was still a podium and my best ever result in WC.

Thanks once again to the team for a fantastic job on the car - couldnt of done it without them.

Comment: Q1 : Not fast but enough to go Q2. 1.35.7 if I remember.
Q2 : Surprinsingly P3, though I made some mistakes in my lap.

Race : Start was tight with Rasmus Tali at first turn. Under pressure I made some mistakes in the first laps and in the beginning of lap 3, at first turn, Rasmus and I touched. I unbalanced me and I lost 2 places, to Rasmus and Gergo. After 10 laps I noticed we were not on same strategy. Blair and Jaakko were behind putting pressure on me. It was hard to keep them away. Thanks to strategy I was 4th after last pit stop with Gergo just behind me and supposedly faster. I tried my best not to give him a chance to catch me. Luckily at 3 or 4 laps to the end he seemed to give up.
Finally 4th, my best result this year so far.

Comment: Q: It was quite OK, P8 in Q1, and P7 in Q2, i thought i won't be in the top 10, so it was better than i expected.
R: Good start, i moved up to 5th. When Tali passed Lapchin, i passed him too, so i was 4th, but the others was on 4 stops, and i was on 5 stops, so at the end, i had to fight hard. In the middle of the race, nothing interesting happened with me, 10 laps before the end, at the last stop, i came in the same lap, as Mikkonen, and i passed him in the pit lane, it was very close. In the last laps, i tried to catch Lapchin, but my brakes started to die, so i didn't push as hard as i could, i just wanted to bring home the car. P5, not bad at all, because it was a very bad track for me, maybe in Spa, it'll be better.

Comment: Had a good Q1 session, with 4th place. Q2 I didn't do the best lap so that cost me some time.

Ended up 6th in the first lap I think with some people retiring early, I had planned a 5 stop, although was meant to do 9 laps not 8 on my first stint. Anyway, I did get held up during my first and second and third possibly[haven't checked] stints which cost me time and compromised my strategy.

So was 8th and then near the end some more retirements/problems meant I was 6th, which may have roughly been where I was pace wise. Of course, strategy is part of racing so I can't blame that for being 8th, that was the strateg I chose to do.

Considering my season so far, very happy with 6th place though, and that 4th in Q1 as well.

Comment: Started from the back of the grid, jumped from 20th to 16th after some carnage in s1, L2 passed Masciulli. After that it was Rietveld, Parisis and me passing Francesconi after a few laps. 2nd stint pass on Filosa(L14 last turn) and vd Linden and Hoffman crash in front which gives me 2 positions. I was struggling in clean air initially because of all the chaos in the 1st stint. From then on I was catching Jeff little by little and caught him just before our last stop and passed through the pits after his penalty. Was in 9th which became 8th and then 7th when Mikkonen had his problem and De Wit's brakes gave up. I probably lost 6th to Disley because of the poor 2nd stint but overall happy with the result.

By the looks of it I could have easily fought in the top 5 if i'd started further up.

Comment: great to be in q2 again:)!!!

My q2 lap was really bad had enough pace for a top 5 after q2 but i messed it a bit then in race start was ok but mayhem and had to take avoiding actions and run wide as my new teammate was also making a move on the inside.....

Then i passed Peter Varga
Maybe a bit agreesive but it was pretty clean from my vieuw

Then trying to make the most out of my 4 stop strategy
Seemed Disley was on a 5 stopper which i passed
Then i was 6th trying to push Baldi for 5th then 4 laps to go left front and left rear starting to fail trying to get it to the fininsh and i managed to do so
And in the end i was 8th still points not what i wanted but it are points

See ya at Spa

Comment: R: Starting from the back of the grid in Valencia is probably the worst thing to happen. WIth 1-2 incindents in first lap i found myself from 19th to 14th just after half a lap! Lap 6 and I made a pass on Francesconi in T1. On lap 10 Rietveld overtook me and in last corner my brakes acted weird and I lost the rear end of the car and hit him. This caused damage to both of us I guess. My first stop was a disaster. 9 seconds in pits to fix the damage was enough to put me again in 17th place. Nothing more happened after this, I just brought the car home and finished in 9th position which is a good result considering the practise i had made.

Congrats to my teamate Morgan for his win!

Comment: This was one of the most difficult races I can remember. I had a decent qualifying, a couple of small mistakes cost 2 positions which meant I started 5th.
In the first corner I chose the outside line, which cost me one position. A turn later Peter Varga forgot to brake in time, which took out myself and 3 other cars. On the same lap I had a couple of other scary moments, which all damaged my car somewhat. From there on I had to recover from the back of grid, which my setup wasn't made for at all, as the maximum downforce configuration meant I had no top speed.
I consequently decided to pit once more than the drivers around me in order to pass them that way. I was not as lucky as in last round with this stratagy as I caught several slower drivers. Before my 2nd last stop, I caught Varga and had no opportunity to pass him, until he decided to pit same lap as me, allowing me to overtake him on the pit entry. A lap later he repassed me, but I was able to retake the place with a somewhat lucky move to turn 1.
I hope Spa will bring a normal race without incidents, as I felt I had the pace to fight for fourth place, but this race provided nothing more than an exercise in slipstream driving.

Comment: Had a back of the grid penalty so I was just hoping to finish top10

Took it save at the start, trying not to get in trouble. Yet someone hit me in the back causing damage in t3 which resulted in 0.5 seconds loss every lap. After 12 laps I managed to squeeze into the top 10 which was my aim. Every pitstop went fine except for the last pitstop, I forgot my pit request, hit the speed limiter in the pits while driving away from my pit stall -> resulting in a stop and go. That was basically the end of my top 10 hopes.

Hopefully I'll be able to score a podium again at Spa

Comment: qual.. 13th.. well not that bad because I simply didnt find the right setup for 1 lap.

race: I had a great start.. I move up fromt 13th to 9th.. after the second corner i was next to maybe masculli but he slowly started to move on me.. maybe he didn't see i was there but i think this was mistake from him... so i switched to the inside before T3.. And then was the the big crash..

I honestly dont know what really happened there.. It really looks like I simply didnt brake in time.. but the atr car braked so early.. and i was so close i just didnt avaoid him. He started to brake way before the 50 sign.. ( on fast lap.. i usually brake after that sign there.. I know it was first lap, but anyway that was too early) Anyway I hit him, and he hit 2 another car.. Really Sorry for that.. this was the first time I get in trouble in first lap.. hopefully the last.. After this incident my car was heavly damaged.. and the other 56 laps was all about fighting the car to make some fast laps.. I did some 1.37 lap.. but I felt like it was a Qual lap I pushed so hard.. at first I saw some chance to score some point, but slowly it came clear others are simply faster than me.. my car is just simply was not enough.. I tried to fight against the others.. but for example in the straights instead of 302 top speed i had only 296.. or something like that.. I tried everything but it was still not enough.. it is the worst feeling :(.

for highlights:
lap 1 .. T3 .. big crash
lap 10 .. I had a pretty beautiful overtake against Marconi
I also had a good fight against Saxen he overtook me at the pit entry.. ( I didn't know we can use the yellow field :/ ).. but after I overtook him back :)

I left quietly, I did not want to make mistakes on the first lap.
I managed to avoid all accidents in the first round
until the first stop was a very smooth race, without bagarre.
the first pit stop I was worried about the clutch and input pitlane I touched the wall, breaking the front wing.
the 28th lap I made a mistake in acceleration, because I was trying to overcome Saxen. The My car has turned into a spin esi is turned off

Comment: Q:

Didn't do a qualy lap as I felt, as I wasn't a 100% sure of the car, I would be more of a hazzle than actually being competetive so it was easier for me to go from the back and take it from there.

R:

Got away good for the formationlap and took it very easy as I'm used to seeing brakelights when someone brakes which I haven't been able to find on theese cars yet.

Coming up the start line I put it in neutral and lets it roll onto my gridslot and then I wait for the lights. Did the same rutine as every other time I've started the car off the line but I stalled it.

Could have gone better but I love the upcoming track so I hope I will be able to do better there.

Comment: Q1: i was 15th which i was quite happy of :) but lost 6tenths on Sector 2 where i and Patrick were really struggling with through practicing and the quali's. anyway could've been 11th or 10th or so.

Race: well not much to say, the start was lightning for me made my way through 7th :) but then my car stalled going into the inside of Jaakko but then the car stalled and i spun :( was dissapointed because my aim was finishing the race and maybe get a point or two, Patrick did a good job so that was a highlight :), can't wait for Spa-Francorchamps!
