2006-04-30San Marino Imola, San Marino Martin DyrlundACE2006P1P1Comment: Very good race for me! I had a horrible start, and Mark took the lead very easily! He gained some seconds to me, and then he made a mistake! I could easily pass him then, and from that moment, it was just keeping him behind, until he made his pit stop! I had some problems in the end of stint 1, and lost alot of seconds there.... the car behaved very strange...

But after the pit stop, it was good again, and was able to put in some good laps, and gaining time on the drivers behind me!

I was very surprised after the qual! I havent been able to do 1:17 times in practice! And then in the qual i was doing it 2 times! But it was nice for me, to have some succes in FSR, since i have been lacking results... ;)25View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2006-04-30San Marino Imola, San Marino Mark AalbertsACE2006P2P3Comment: Im happy about mine race today, had an good qualifying. Start of the race was perfect where i catched Martin towards first corner. AFter some laps i made a silly mistake dropping me back behind martin.

I had some more silly mistakes one costed me a wing, and another ofroud trip in the sand costed me 2nd place. Overall im pretty satisfied.18View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

it all went pretty clean to bad i had one spin in the chicanes.

2006-06-18Great Britain Silverstone, Great Britain 2006 Mark AalbertsACE2006P1P1Comment: Im realy satisfied after this race, almost everything went the way as i hoped for. I had an good qualify where i did 2 time mine personal best lap in both pre qualy and the actual qualy.

Race was also good, i had an good 1st stint where i was able to make a gap to ferry off about 4 seconds i think. After mine pitstop he was right on mine back and after a small mistake (went wide at one corner) i lost the lead for some laps.

Then after mine 2nd pitstop i got back in the lead again and didnt gave it away. I realised that i had to do something so somehow i managed to increase mine pace and made up a little gap towards ferry and kept it to the finish.

Mine 2nd win in FSR and im happy with it. Up to montreal now, another track i like. I also like the competion in ace, it was realy close today with 8 drivers within half a second :-) nice racing guys.

2006-07-09Canada Montreal, Canada 2006 Mark AalbertsACE2006P6P2Comment: Pre qualy went perfect but the 2nd qualy was not good. I couldnt get up to speed resulting in a verry bad lap.

The start of the race was ok gained up some places by mistakes from others at a point i was even in 1st place. After mine 1st stop i came back on track in between some slower drivers and there i lost the race basicly. I was continue fighting for places and some other drivers got the advantage there.

After 2nd pitstop i was desperate to finish at least on the podium. I managed to pass gab because he made a mistake. Also cooper i overtook after being stuck behind him for some laps.

Overal i had a fun race, but result should have been better. I wanted to finish at least in front of ferry but couldnt succeed.

Looking forward to Indy21View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2006-07-23United States Indianapolis, United States 2006 Mark AalbertsACE2006P3P1Comment: First i need to say that i didnt expected to win this one. Some drivers had a better pace then me.

For qualy the things didnt worked out as i hoped and i was not even near by mine personal best time so resulting in a bad qualy for me, just 5th place. Due some penalty's i moved up some places.

In race things went as i hoped for, could go up for 2nd for a while staying behind laslzo untill pitstops wich brought me in front of him. Then at the 2nd pitstop some things went wrong, i overshot pits and lost 2nd place to laszlo.

After that i settled down for 3th place finish but for some reasons steve and laszlo retired and gave me the victory. I just hoped ferry would finish a bit more to the back so i could gain some more points on him. Now its 17 points distance, thats still a lot.

Looking forward to next race.25View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2006-08-13France Magny Cours, France 2006 Mark AalbertsACE2006P4P3Comment: One of the more difficult races for me, i dont like this track and besides i injured mine knee last monday wich makes racing more difficult as well.

For qualy i did an poor lap but still managed to start from p4. At the start i maintained that position. But after 10 to 15 laps i started to make some mistakes as the car behaved different with less fuell.

Only in the first half of the races i could keep up the pace and didnt lost much time on the front runners but after the 2nd pistop i started to loose concentration and mine knee didnt felt nice either. This all resulted in a verry bad pace where mine times fluctuated alot between 13 high and 15s.

I never had a decent race pace from halfway race on so i lost a lot of time.

I hope mine knee recovers soon again, i still cant do many practise so i hope everything fall into places for Hockenheim next week, otherwise i am loosing to much ground on ferry for the title.

2006-08-20Germany Hockenheim, Germany 2006 Mark AalbertsACE2006P3P9Comment: Im not realy happy with mine race today. I qualified in a good 3th position. At the start i messed up a bit and lost a place. After that i had a battle with ferry he could pass me, one lap later i was able to come alongside him when i had a better exit at T1 but i braked way to early, i missed the sign and couldnt see where i was on the track so braking to early and couldnt pass him there. Then half a lap later entering the stadium i was in ferry's dirty air and i just ran off the track loosing places. Then 2 corners later i made a silly mistake touched the curb and skidded of the road backwards into a tyrwal dammaging mine car heavily.

After those first laps i was pretty angry about that mistake so i settled down for 9th place finish, but then saw i gained time on 8th place driver so i started to push again. Then in lap 40 i got a disconection onfortunate and retired. Its realy a shame that it happend.

I know i was on the wrong strategie next time i have to take care with that, i want to thank Sebastian for his 3th place finish as he keeps the constructor title alive with it altough we lost our first place but im confident that we will get it back in the remaining races.

Congrats to Fred with his win, you deserve it :-)0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2006-09-03Hungary Hungaroring, Hungary 2006 Mark AalbertsACE2006P8P2Comment: I dint expected to be here on the podium. I have had many troubles to get used to the new physiks. So mine expectations where not high specialy after some guys where lapping a second faster then me.

Q1 went reasonable ok got in for top8 qualy but then i got a disconection as it was raining heavily at mine home, i always have troubles with it when its raining. So after i got rejoin again i had to start in 8 spot as i couldnt set a time.

At the start i squeesed mineself between ferry and the wall taking a position from ferry. After t1 gab and mine team m8 spun, i managed to go in between them and avoided both spinning away from me in front of me. I was verry lucky there. So after t1 i found mineself back in 4th. After that i had some nice batle with laszlo and ondrej.

I adapted mine strategie halfway race as race developed in mine favour before mine first stop i changed it and went underway on softs with a heavy car, that wasnt realy clever as on the end of mine stint i almost lost mine tyre, it was close to failure.

In the end the change payed of and found mineself back in 2nd. In the 2nd last lap i lost concentration and brushed the wall damaging mine suspension and wing, im just lucky i didnt lost the wing. Laszlo behind me seemed to do some sight seeing as he didnt closed in on me even when mine last 2 laps where dramatical. I think he could get me there if he knew that i was in troubles.

So afteral it was a great weekend for RR we are back in the lead now, and for me i closed in on ferry and christian for the driver tittle, thats gonna be interesting in the remaining races. Looking forward for the battle.

Congrats to Fred.21View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2006-09-03Hungary Hungaroring, Hungary 2006 Domagoj MalezicACE2006P3P5Comment: Weekend started great! All 2 practice I had P1 and Q1 was also good with 1.16.3 , 0.4 slower then PB. On final quali I had 1.16.7 which was enough for P3. I would like to thank my boos Roaldo for giving me place in first team. Race was unlucky for me. I had good start but then I hit someone in first corner. It was my mistake defintly but we were lucky. Then I was in the midle of corner and I thought to go on right side to move from racing line but few drivers went to that side. And 2 of them hit me anbd that completly destroyed my suspension and I though my race was over. But then I remebered MArk Aalberts words (my team mate) that I must finish for constructor points. And I done magical job I think with almost imposible car to drive. And I think I had great pace , only 1 sec slower then leader wiht that car. In testing I had 1.17.3 pace at the end of stint and that would be easy victory for me. I apologise to Ferry I think who hit me at first corner. But I just moved my car off racing line and then you come. Great day anyway with Roaldo Team Racing taking lead in WS ACE. And I hope boss will be happy with this driving cuz it is really hard to drive 69,5 laps with damaged car. And only one mistake.

Expecting to pull out in construtors for 2 weeks !13View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2006-09-17Turkey Istanbul, Turkey 2006 Mark AalbertsACE2006P5P15Comment: Practise payed off, had an ok pace also for qualify although i struggled to come into 2nd qualy.

For race things seemed ok untill i made a silly mistake in one of the chicane in 2nd section, i brushed the wall and damaged car. At that point i went on with slight damage, after that i saw me back behind Fred and some other driver, unforunate fred spun and i was behind an other car. I never saw fred and when the driver in front op me avoided spinning fred he was suddenly in mine path and i had nowhere to go.

I imediatly went into pit, but i had to wait verry long and thus mine egine got overheated in the pistop and died. End of mine race.

2006-10-15China Shanghai, China 2006 Mark AalbertsACE2006P5P4Comment: I practised alot for this track as i was strugling alot here. I got some help from Christian Neumann that payed off as he came up with an decent setup, atleast it was better then mine own.

Anyhow Qualy went ok, i just got in top8 qualifying. The field was verry competetive, in 2nd qualy i was able to get in a better lap and saw myself back at 5th spot in the end wich is ok for me.

Before the race i got some information from Danny Davison about making starts, that realy helped me out as well. In the last races i had dificultys to come of the gridd and in some cases i lost places at the start. This time i used his technique and that realy helped.

I had an rocket start and moved up from 5th to 2nd even before we reached entry of first corner.

After that it was just an race to the finish, i knew i had some faster drivers behind me so i didnt made it to dificult when they passed me. In the end i could have finished in 4th as fred was on same pace, but after retirement of Christian Smirnoff i decided to not risk anything and just bring the car home as points at this stage are verry important.

Although we are in front of fts i dont think its decided yet, some races ago i thought the same after they scored a 1-2 finish in turkey, and now all of sudden its the otherway around.

Its over till the last flag has dropped :-)15View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

So I had to fight my way from P23 to P2, was very eventfull, overtook a lot of people. In the end some people had braking problems, which helped me a bit further, but overall I think my hard work payed off. I was 25 sec behind Steve, who won, so hate to think what couldve happened.21View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2007-06-24United States Indianapolis, United States 2007 Fred GoslingACE2007P2P1Comment: I've always gone well at this track, but to win here when it's so competitive is just a dream. Gianluca, Domagoj and myself had a really beautiful race, we spent almost the entire distance a few seconds apart. I lead the start of the race until a lapped car held me up and Dodo passed me. I jumped him in the pitstops because of his fueling problem but at the same time Lucas jumped me. As Dodo already said, there was an important moment where he got in my slipstream and got ahead on the straight, but I was able to brake later on the racing line and go back in front. I thought it was likely I would finish 3rd to be honest, the others were just so fast but after my team mate was hit by a lapped car I ended up first again. My hardest but my best race so far

Congrats again to Lucas who should have won, Domagoj for a clean fight, to Blair who nearly beat all of us on a one stop! And damn Blair for taking fastest lap from me right at the end lol25View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2007-07-01France Magny Cours, France 2007 Fred GoslingACE2007P7P3Comment: I wasn't very comfortable with this track, I had a busy week and didn't do enough practice. Had a terrible time in qualifying, my q1 time was far from my pb, and q2 I just had a very poor lap, leaving me 7th on the grid.

I made an awful start too, due to not testing starts with the setup I used. I passed Kasimatis and Johansen in the first few laps but then got stuck behind Gab, always a hard guy to pass :P (plus his ping is higher than most) After I got passed him, there was already a big gap to the leaders. My pace was ok but not enough to catch them so I didn't take any risks. I am very happy to get 4th because of all the problems, and it's great that Roaldo have won the last three races now.

Looking forward to Silverstone next, hoping for a podium like last year.18View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2007-07-15Great Britain Silverstone, Great Britain 2007 Fred GoslingACE2007P1P3Comment: I wasn't happy with the car in the first stint, really struggled to stay ahead of Blair and Steve. As the fuel went down I managed to pull a 2 second lead on Blair, when I made my first stop. I lost at least 8 seconds by overshooting my pits and having to back up and rejoined 3rd. I realised Blair probably would have jumped me anyway but I was hopeful of 2nd place.

Anyway for the rest of the race, I tried to catch Steve but we were just to evenly matched on pace and there wasn't any chance to make up time. However points are very important and it's great to be on the podium and also to get my first pole this season. Big congrats to Blair, definately deserved this win

2007-07-29Germany Nurburgring, Europe 2007 Fred GoslingACE2007P5P2Comment: Not one of my best tracks, but I was hoping for a podium again if possible. Qualifying was not good, in both sessions I had many problems with traffic on some laps and was too conservative on others. Although I expected a better lap time, 5th on the grid was still good.

I got a good start, but got a bit sideways at t1 and slipped to 7th. There were some accidents up ahead of me and I soon found myself 4th. It seemed to me that 4th would be the best I could achieve, as Blair, Domagoj and Steve were just too fast. I picked up 2nd after Steve and Dodo retired, and kept it until the finish. It was much more than I expected and the points are always very welcome for the team.

Congrats to the Ghostspeed guys, both did a really great job! I'm really looking forward to the next race.21View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2007-08-19Hungary Hungaroring, Hungary 2007 Fred GoslingACE2007P4P4Comment: A bit disappointed with 4th, as I could have fought for 2nd. I made an average start but still found myself in a good position. I was on the outside of Laaff going into turn two, but he was obviously a bit too aggressive and drove into the back of Machiel, and avoiding him allowed both Ghostspeed cars to pass me which meant the race was basically already decided. My friend Joao was very hard to pass, he was very clean but I had huge understeer behind him. I managed to pass him eventually (with quite a cool move 8) ) but I had lost 20 seconds to Blair already. From then on I didn't have any motivation to push hard, so I just tried to get to the finish. Like most drivers I also had a lot of problems with lapping cars, very low grip whenever you get near them and a few times they spun or crashed right in front of me which of course lost me even more time to the top 3. As usual the exception was Wes Richards who is always very helpful to the leaders!

Big congrats to Yan, who put in a perfect performance! Also congrats to Blair and Machiel :)15View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2007-09-02Turkey Istanbul, Turkey 2007 Fred GoslingACE2007P12P1Comment: Very surprised by this result, I was aiming for 5th or 6th before the race...

Q2 was very good, my preference was to do a 3 stop strategy but because of my grid penalty I decided to go heavy and do a 2 stop. The start was a bit messy, I don't know how I got to turn one without hitting something but after a few passing moves on the first couple of laps, I somehow was 5th, and not far away from the 3 stoppers at the front.

Then obviously everyone in front of me starting pitting and I was in the lead, and came out 3rd after my first stop, behind Steve and Yan. It was very close at the end, with Yan coming out from his last stop right in front of me and Steve right behind me. Then I just kept pushing until the end where Yan let me pass him, for my 4th win in WS Ace.

I would like to dedicate this result to my friend Tim, who was sadly killed on Saturday.25View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2007-09-23Belgium Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium 2007 Fred GoslingACE2007P11P5Comment: I had a terrible build up to the race, made a big error in the mid sector on my only traffic-free q1 lap and as I also had a grid penalty I had no chance of showing a true performance in the race.
It got even worse when my FF wasn't working on the formation lap, I ended up losing the car on a bump and having to start from the pit lane anyway, which gave me a chance to reset the FF but lose a lot of time. Finishing in 5th place at the end is a miracle, I lost so much time fighting through from last that I thought even a top 10 might be impossible.13View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2008-06-15Canada Montreal, Canada 2008 Fred GoslingACE2008P19P4Comment: It was a very very tough race. I got a new wheel just this week and I was really not comfortable enough with it to run at the pace of Rickard and Bono. I clung on to 2nd for most of the race until Bono passed me which I expected. I tried to stay with him in the closing laps but then I had a spin at the hairpin. Looking at the replay it seems that I got too close and lost downforce. Unfortunately I lost my front wing and damaged my car recovering from the spin and had to make another pitstop. When I rejoined I passed Steve but couldn't keep him behind to keep 3rd. My car was just impossible to drive and I had to settle for 4th. It's disappointing but at least I was able to take more important points.

Congrats to Rickard, surely a WC drive awaits mate.15View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2008-08-31Spain Valencia, Europe 2008 Bono HuisACE2008P1P1Comment: Great race. One of my best races for sure. Qualifying was great, in both sessions P1. Especially Q2 I had a very good lap with 23 laps of fuel. So very happy to be on pole for 2nd time in FSR. Anyway, then the race. Had a terrible start lol, was on p5 after turn 2. So really bad and I almost managed to spun in turn 10, losing another 2 places. P7 after lap 1, but after a few laps I already passed Bengtssen and Laaff. Then I slowly came closer to Holtkamp and when he made his pitstop I was really pushing and when I made my stop I came out infront of him, on P3. Then again I was really pushing and trying to come closer to Kanitz. He made his pitstop a few laps earlier, so again I was really pushing very hard but when I came out of the pits he was just infront of me. Was trying to close but didnt really work lol until he almost lost it in Sector 3 and he had some damage so I could pass him. Hellsten made his pitstop and he just came out infront of me. At the end of that lap I saw Hellsten had some kind of problem with his brakes so I was pushing a lot, before the chicane we were side by side but I didnt want to risk much so I didnt try a pass there. The next corner his brakes really died and he crashed into the wall, so I was on P1 :D Last laps I was really driving slow because I didnt want to risk a brake faillure or whatever. So finally I won a race again, last win was Malaysia so long time ago, and really happy with this win. Cya all in Spa:)25View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2008-11-09Brazil Interlagos, Brazil 2008 Fred GoslingACE2008P9P5Comment: Winning the title in 2007 was amazing, but I have to say this year is even more special. I managed to score in every race except for one and that was crucial. Again I have to say thanks to Roald and everyone at Roaldo Racing, in particular Ondrej and Machi who joined us at the start of the season and helped me personally a lot throughout the year. Of course I also have to mention Bono, who is a very very talented guy and i'm sure he will win many more races and championships in the future.

Also thanks to all the admin at FSR, and everyone involved with the race broadcasts.13View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2009-06-14Turkey Istanbul, Turkey Fred GoslingACE2009P6P5Comment: Qualifying wasn't bad, starting 5th was quite nice considering how fast the competition were. The start was fine but the car felt really dreadful in the first stint, I had huge understeer and no stability under braking and I lost touch completely with the Twisters. After my first stop my pace improved a bit, I passed Petter and some others but I was too slow to keep Karol behind. I was concentrating on not losing any more places after that, then I rejoined in front again of Karol after my last stop. I was pretty confused by that but anyway I pushed as hard as I could to keep him behind, probably he would have passed me eventually but I was lucky that he had to pit another time so I could finish 5th.

Congrats to Dodo and all at Twister!13View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2009-06-28Great Britain Silverstone, Great Britain Fred GoslingACE2009P7P7Comment: I'm very disappointed about this result, especially as my pace was fairly good for once. My qualifying wasn't good, bad times in both sessions but still 6th on the grid. The opening laps didn't go to plan either, and I lost some places and got two hits from Shaun which made the car very difficult to drive. I finally passed Shaun a bit later but took yet another hit in doing so - my car was pretty screwed basically. Finishing 7th was definitely not what I had in mind even though this has always been one of my least favourite tracks.

I'm also sad for Nebo and Elmer, they both deserved a lot more. We have to be encouraged by our pace, and again congratulate Twister - especially Mikko - on an incredible performance.9View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2009-10-04Japan Fuji Speedway, Pacific Fred GoslingACE2009P8P5Comment: I think this was one of my best drives of this season actually. I did a good lap in q2 with a heavy car and pushed 100% from start to finish with nice consistency. I did have some damage after two hits on the opening laps, so i'm happy with the pace I managed. I was hoping for more than 5th actually, so i'm a bit disappointed with that.13View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2009-10-25Canada Montreal, Canada Fred GoslingACE2009P3P5Comment: Naturally i'm a bit sad about my race, I had a chance for p2 but ended up with p5.

My race was going very well, although I couldn't show my pace as I was held up a little bit behind Karim and it was really tough to stay close enough to be able to attack. Unfortunately I caught the kerbs at the last chicane badly and touched the wall with the rear of my car, and the car started behaving weirdly. Then when I got to the turn 8/9 chicane the back of the car stepped out which caught me by surprise and I hit the wall and bent the steering. After doing a lap which was 4/5 seconds off or something I had to pit although the timing couldn't have been worse as I was half-way through my second stint. So after a 20 second stop to repair my car I took a heavy fuel load and tried to get a result. Was surprised to find myself in 5th after all the problems I had. It was quite tricky to keep Joakim behind at the end as I had done 25 laps on my tyres but it worked out OK and i'm glad my rushed fuel calculations got me to the end of the race. Although we unfortunately lost the team title today, it's fair to say that Twister have done a better job than us and they deserve it.13View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
