2008-04-19Bahrain Sakhir, Bahrain 2008 Rasmus TaliPRO2008P32P7Comment: Well, at the start I was very confident as I knew that I had good strategy for race. After lights went green I gained 2 places, then someone had slow traction out of turn one and I backed down just a bit to avoid crash, doing that tough made Mark Aalberts crash into me as he did not let off the gas and after I lost my vehicle someone other smashed hard into me because I was sideways on the track, so there I was dead last with yellow suspension and back wing. After that I started overtakeing people and fortunatly for me there were some dnfs wich allowed me to fight for higher places, tough in the pits I lost much time due to damage (stop was 6 seconds slower than expected).
In gereral I would have realy liked to be on podium because I had realy good chanche of being there, tough P4 is not so bad and hope that I have more luck next time.9View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2009-05-30Monaco Monte Carlo, Monaco Ajibola LawalAMA2009P25P5Comment: What can I say, 25th to 6th very happy, as i was a bit low on confidence after dnf in the two races in which i have competed in so far in my fsr career. So now I'm looking forward to Turkey.I started from the pitlane where i made about 10 places in the first 10 laps or so and I was held up by Malcom Rice quite unfairly I think, i got past him twice when he made mistakes but he would swerve right across me, and he kept on blocking two ways but I AM NOT GOING TO APPEAL OR ANYTHING Malcom so dont worry i forgive you. Then I had clear air, in which i didnt let muhammed patel as no blue flags appeared in my pc screen (very sorry)i let him thorugh after florian whispered to me.I then set my best laps a 1 14 3 with a car damaged and steering left, so im very pleased with that, i was able to do this after my sheduled pitstop as i pitted on lap 30 leaving me with a very light car for last laps.13View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2010-04-03Malaysia Sepang, Malaysia 2011 David MartinezACE2010P9P3Comment: I'm Happy with my result in Malaysia. 3rd position considering my amount of laps of training before this race was less than 200laps is a good result.
My start position was not good, 9th. I knew it would soon pass drivers if wanted to improve postions, had a bit of luck in the start saved from the start line accident and placing fifth position in first turn, after this managed to overtake the drivers in fourth and third position, and from that moment just drove calmly to finish of the race thinking of ending. I knew it was impossible to catch up Mattias and Rasmus that day. I made many mistakes throughout the race, result of my lack of training, but very happy globally. Congratulations to my teammates for their results, and whole team for this great weekend.
Finally thanks to all members of Precision motorsports Team, and specially to the guys working on setup. Also thanks to Ondrej and Johannes for understand my lack of dedication and the way that I take this whole SimRacing things. In my case with so little time I spend with this, without all the information that the whole team shares and the setups, i could not get any results.30View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2010-04-04Malaysia Sepang, Malaysia 2011 Ronny HähnelWC2010P2P3Comment: Quali was quite good because I did my PB, but it was very very close to Domagoj.

The race was realy good, because I could catch Domagoj in the first laps and
after that I had no pressure from behind and could do some realy quick laps, but my both Pitstops were a bit to late, so Rasmus and Bono catch me... I was a bit quicker then Bono but i would not enter into risk at the end of this race...

All in all I'm quite habby about my first podium in FSR and about the performence from PM.

2010-04-04Malaysia Sepang, Malaysia 2011 John-Eric SaxenWC2010P8P7Comment: Overall I'm happy to finally manage a race without issues, too long since the last time. Qualifying was tight and I improved crucial tenths on the last run to take 8th. Start went perfect and I climbed a further place, from where on the race was pretty much status quo. Managed to control Puumalainen behind me and had to overtake Bengtsson who was on 1 stop strategy. Towards the end the gap started closing to Greco, but it wasn't enough. Apart from slight understeer in stint 1 the setup was perfect, so I'm really pleased to see the young guys could make use of it and score a historical 1-2-3. Considering my performance, the track has never suited me very well. In that sense P7 is pretty much a maximal result, especially considering the level of the guys ahead. Hopefully the momentum of the team carries on to Shanghai...6View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2010-04-11China Shanghai, China 2011 Jaakko MikkonenWC2010P2P1Comment: I had a good qualification lap which was enough for 2nd position.

In the start of the race I wasn't too sure about my pace so I tried to be careful and avoid too much fighting with others. I saw Malezic was lagging quite badly so i preferred to leave some gap to him. He was possibly slightly faster anyway.

I didn't see what happened for the others at the start. I just noticed there was basically no one close behind. Shortly after that Malezic lost connection and i gained the first place.
After that i was just driving around alone. I expected Rasmus to catch me, but it seems he had some damage which was slowing him down.25View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2010-04-11China Shanghai, China 2011 Ronny HähnelWC2010P4P12Comment: Q: Did my PB so was ok with 4th place.

R: Unfortunately Bruno hit me in T3... He lost his front wing and I had some rear damag and had to go to pits... After that I tryed to push realy hard.
My pace was realy fast and 10 laps befor the finish i was right behind the Top 5.
I could pass Blair Disley and Patrick de Wit, but then I had a collision with Agustin Canapino and lost my front wing and had to pit again.... All in all my race was quite annoying and I lost again very much points to the Top3. Realy shame becaus, I was again one of the fastest driver in the race.
Nevertheless gratz to Jaakko and Rasmus.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2010-04-25Spain Catalunya, Spain 2011 Rasmus TaliWC2010P19P2Comment: Q: Realy disapointing, messed up all my laps and had to settle with 19th position with 0,6 behined poleposition.

R:
I knew it was hard to pass here but at the start I was more concerned at keeping my car out of contacts, I managed to get to 11th position after first lap and no signs of damage.
After that I had to pass 2 Roaldo guys and Disley and Dewit.
At the time of first pitstops Bono and Marques disapeard wich moved me up to 4th position. It was pretty much lonely race after that.
26 laps to go I was 3s behined Ronny but I had to save fuel so I couldnt realy push to try and catch him, passing would have been even more diffucult so I was ok with my 4th position. On final lap Karol and Ronny had disconnection so I was lucky to get the 2nd position.
Congrats to Malezic and Twister for the win. See you in Monaco. 18View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2010-04-25Spain Catalunya, Spain 2011 Jaakko MikkonenWC2010P11P4Comment: Qualifying was quite difficult. I haven't been very fast on one lap so my time wasn't a big surprise. I knew car would be better in race so I wasn't too worried.

I had some lag issues at start so i tried to just keep moving safely. Then someone hit me on inside causing damage and lost positions. I drove rest of the race with damaged car as fixing it could have cost too much time.

2010-05-02Monaco Monte Carlo, Monaco 2011 Rasmus TaliWC2010P5P7Comment: Q: Qould have been better but I was ok with 5th place on the grid, as I knew I was fast in race.

R: At the start I managed to overtake Bolier. I was cruising behined Ronny and Greco first stint and saved fuel and engine. I tried not to follow Ronny too closely as in some of the medium speed corners front end lost grip wich made car hard to keep off the walls. On lap 15 I fell a sleep a bit and the streets of monaco gave me a good wake up call, first corner of s3 I hit the inside curb just a little too much and it made my car almost roll, I somehow got away only with damaged right side as I had to pull out some "kit" move and drove on 2 wheels and landed back on 4 wheels.
Fortunatley damage wasnt too big and I didnt have to think about repairing it.
I managed to close the gap with Ronny and Greco again so I was back in the fight for 2nd position.
Though now it seems that I should have gone with 1 stopper as my tyres were in pretty good condition I decided to take 2 stop strategy. At the beginning all seemed good until I started tou catch up 1 stop drivers.
It was realy hard to get even a look as there is barely room for 2 cars on most of the track. I managed to pass De Wit after the tunnel witch was realy enjoyable.
After that I was again behined Ronny. Before the last stop he made some mistakes and realy slowed down, braking into last corner as I slightly steered left to avoid hiting Ronny my rear wheels locked as I hit the bump and it threw my car into wall wich cost me front wing and 13 seconds. After that frustration realy kicked in as I landed behined Marques who seemed slower but not slow enough, before I could start thinking about passing him, Morris came out of pit just between me and Bruno to make the day even worse.
Some laps later all 3 of us caught up with De Wit with worn tyres who was holding up Jaakko. So 5 man train developed and everyone were looking to keep or gain their position. I hoped for some little taping infront of me so I could win places, unfortunatley it came true and I lost my front wing as I barely touched Marques who had slowed down because De Wit lost his wing.
After pit I closed up on De Wit and Disley, I touched De Wit couple of times in the hair pin as he took some wide lines there and I had no where to go but luckily it didnt make him spinn.
5 laps from the end I managed to overtake him around the outside before the casino corner. He tried some freaky move in the hairpin and hit my left sidepod luckily I survived that. Passing Disley was near impossible as he had some lag and his top speed was too good so I had to finish behined him.

I cant be happy at all with this result but some small unfortunate things at the later stages of the race set the tone for my race.
Congrats to Bono Greco and Ronny see you after the break.6View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2010-05-02Monaco Monte Carlo, Monaco 2011 Jaakko MikkonenWC2010P6P26Comment: Qual time was ok.

Start was no problem. I couldn't pass anyone and no one was trying to pass me. I was just trying to find rhythm for first laps and stay away from the walls. Then De Wit braked behind me too late for the chicane and hit my car for some reason. Few corners later he braked again very late and went for a gap which really wasn't there unless I see him and give room. I know many other players would have just turned over in such situation and damage both cars.

I did early first stop to pass the cars front of me. I was amazed to see later that they were actually on one stop strategy. Later on my second stint I caught up the same pack I was driving behind earlier on first stint. I couldn't pass them so i waited them to pit in. My only option to pass them was to drive faster than them with my old tyres, which wasn't very realistic goal, but I was trying anyway.

After the second stop I came out of the pits behind De Wit again. This time I had much faster car. After few passing attempts I made a judgement error and touched back of his car causing him to slide to the wall.

Poor ending for the race from my part. I don't usually take too high risks, but this time there just wasn't enough margin for error.

Now we seem to have a long break and then Turkey, which hopefully is a normal race again.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2010-05-22Turkey Istanbul, Turkey 2011 David MartinezACE2010P3P4Comment: "First of all thanks to all Precision Motorsports members for their work and Setups; without this would have been impossible to obtain good results for me with my almost no train for races. Congratulations to my teammate Mattias for his victory and of course Cyril for his podium. About my race , the qualify were lot better than expected, I had not even tried qualify runs so I didn't expect to or among the top 5, so 3th was fantastic.
I hoped to have a good race pace, and it was. In the beginning I could overtake Yakimenko so I was in second position. Euler went first and was quick but I felt I could try to pass him at some point , Stahre was right behind me so I decided to try to overtake Euler but he was very fast on the long straight. My car was very good and although we were missing some top speed, was very stable. Then on lap 10 in a fight with Euler under braking in the long back straight I received a hit on the back by Mattias and my car was damaged in the rear .Since then the car became more difficult to drive, some strange reactions and I began to lose time over the first two. Obviously the car was a bit slower, nothing very serious but enough to lose two or three tenths of a second per lap and lose the opportunity to fight for the victory .But no problems, that's racing.
After the damage I start think in what to do, and I decided to go one stop without knowing if the wheels could stand. It was my only option to do something decent, knowing that I could not get all the speed of the car at every level of fuel. Was not bad, and at the end 4th position. Very good considering the circumstances. I am very glad I didn't expect to be competitive in Turkey, but also a little sad because I lost the chance to fight for a win and especially to have a pretty fun race with Stahre and Euler.
I hope it goes better in the next, Congratulations to the podium.25View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

While taking inside line exiting final corner to avoid greco and huis if they were to make a mistake, Greco ran into Huis a bit and half supun in front of me, I didnt know what was the damage but I braked into t1 a bit earlier and more inside the track to be ready if my car has some suspension problems. Unfortunatley contact with Greco took off my front wing and car just understeered deep into t1, I then tried to avoid gravel trap but I touched it with 2 of my wheels and it sent me towoards the track with no control over the car, I did everything I could but the car ended up in ideal line where Euler hit me and after that some red car also.

I realy dont know what to say, a realy big chunk of possible points went away again because of some realy misfortunate happenings, I am sorry for those who suffered in t1 because of me but hand on my hear there was nothing I could have done to avoid it after I touched the gravel.

See you in Canada.

2010-06-06Canada Montreal, Canada 2011 Rasmus TaliWC2010P12P18Comment: I was strugling to find confidence in q setups so it was realy hard session for me, on my quickest lap I did personal best in s1 and s2 but then on s3 where I had been as fast as anyone I braked too early to chicane and it cost be some 0,25 seconds. More disapointing was the starting place p12 while 1 tenth better would have given some 5th or 6th place.

I experienced some quite nasty lag and from my view every car in front of me lagged so I knew start would be tricky. I did some very cautious start checking cars in front and rear to have maximum distance with everyone just in case someone would lag into me.
After clean first laps I still couldnt push as there were quite big train of cars ahead of me and still cars were flicking so I decided I will save engine and brakes til I make my pitstop.
On lap 17 I droped my pace maybe too much and gave Bruno a good run into last turn, I decided to keep it safe and not to take defensive line before chicane as race was still long but as I understand now we both took it too safe and some realy akward and frustrating dnf happned second race in a row. Bruno touched me in the last chicane and I half spunn towards the wall I clicked the gears down quickly to avoid stalling but got onto reverse and race over.

Trying to forget last couple of races now and keep concentrating on next one where I want to be on top of pace in Q aswell as in Race.

Also congrats to Ronny for his first win I know how good it feels, and also Bono for his 2nd position.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

The race ending crash came on lap 29. I passed Puumalainen on the chicane and he tried to re-pass me on T1 which ended up in collision. I spun middle of track and Nilsson i think it was couldn't avoid me and hit my front tire off.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2010-06-20Europe Valencia, Europe 2010 Jaakko MikkonenWC2010P3P4Comment: Third place in qual was ok. I had more pace but didn't manage to drive whole lap properly.

I took the start carefully, lost one position but survived it without damage which was the main thing. Then the things got a lot more difficult.

I had opted to use more wings which I thought was a great idea for the braking and everything. But it turned a problem as I couldn't follow anyone close enough to outbrake them, and when I almost could, I was about to ram over them when I was just braking on my normal braking point.

On early laps I almost drove over Bruno, while avoiding him I went off the track and when I came back I touched Nilsson. Car felt like it had some damage so I was very unsure about its handling. I couldn't do my first stop early as I wanted as I would have got in to traffic.

After first stop car felt ok again but as I clearly hadn't had enough problems my wheel came to help and started losing force feedback. I got scared few times as it lost all force middle of a corner. I'm not totally sure but somehow I had an impression that ffb glitches happened same time as I saw other cars lagging a bit.

I wanted to do my final stop before Nilsson whom I had caught up again. Sadly he did a shorter stint than I expected and we pitted on same lap.

Third stint was just driving around again. I found some confidence again and car seemed shift balance toward oversteer which was nice when following another car. I did my one last attempt to pass Nilsson which surprisingly worked. Second surprise was that he couldn't follow on my slipstream and I could drive away.

In the end this was very difficult race but result itself isn't too bad. Keeping in mind the DNF from Canada12View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

I started the race carefully and overtook I think one driver. After that I was mostly stuck behind other cars. It's very difficult to pass cars on front who have also slipstream of the car front of them, so I tried to be smart and attack later or when I thought I wont get overtaken from behind.
So I managed to pass some drivers and found myself later from 5th place. Not too bad but not awesome either. 10View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

My practise was realy less for Silverstone but nevertheles was my quali bad again.
During the race I could pass some cars and moved infront to P4 with some very nice fights slightly befor the first pitstop.
My secound stint was quite boring beacause i couldn't gain time to Karol and behind me was a 4 secound gap.
Last stint was realy bad because I pitted very eraly, therefore my tyres got more and more worse to the end and I had to suffer a puncture almoste.

Another thing wich frustrating me was some people following on outlaps and fast laps I tryed to let them pass but they would slow down too so please stop doing that it ruined 3 laps of mine.

R: The most frustraiting best race I have had if that makes sense.

I was realy confident in my race pace to challange for the victory even starting from p9.
As always I didnt take too many risks first corners as some cars had lag and some made some optimistic moves, at the hairpin on lap 1 Karol hit me from behined and I spun and had to go into neutral. I had damaged rear wing for the rest of the race and droped down to 19th place.
Next I had to manage to get around some laging and agressive people so I had to still take a bit of caution not to crash out from the race.
Dominguez pushed me wide 2 times when trying to pass him at hairpin wich made me lose 1 position and valuable time.
I managed to get passed him at one point and after that there was still lots of passing to do. By lap 12 I had crawled my way back to 9th position I had lost 18 seconds for the leaders so I had to push and give 110% of me every lap every sector every corner but as I decided to switch to 1 stopper to avoid driving around cars I had to drive without any brake locking or wheelspinning to avoid blowing up tyres.
I pited at lap 33 at that time left front tyre had developed some grip issues but I knew next stint should be easier on tyres. Coming out of pits I passed Karol and Rietevald, after wich I again put the hammer down and made one of the best stints of my career wich resulted me staying a head of Nilsson who was hunting me down whole time with newer tyres.

So at the end 4th place wich I cant say satisfyed me at all as my pace allowed me to atleast fight for the victory today but at the same time getting from p19 after first lap to 4th positions without any drivers retireing infront of me cant be too bad eather.
Thanks for the team for the nice job again now we can take a little break to recharge our battaries to go upagainst to the remainder of the season.8View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2010-07-18Germany Hockenheim, Germany 2010 Jaakko MikkonenWC2010P15P4Comment: My qualification was a disaster resulting 15th place on the grid.
Start was scary as expected. People doing a bit optimistic moves here and there.

Luckily I survived the first laps without damage, pitted early and got laps on clear track, which I guess allowed me to pass some drivers. Later on the second stint I catched Lee Morris on 6th place. I did an early second stop which allowed me to pass Morris without fighting on track. For third stint I had Nilsson on front to catch up on 5th place but that gap was already too big, so I decided to settle for 6th place.

I had pace for better, but as we've seen, the race is half over if the starting position is somewhere back of the grid.12View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2010-08-22Belgium Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium 2011 Rasmus TaliWC2010P18P7Comment: One of the hardest most interesting races of my career.
Me and Ronny started from pits and had to work together for the whole 44 laps to get any result out of this race. The most difficult thing was to keep the distance between us as close as possible while pushing every lap. After some 15 laps we also had to fight with other cars on fresher rubber wich wasnt easy at all.
When early stopers started to close on us Ronny was on leader role and I was behined saving fuel so I had to block cars coming from behined while not hiting Ronny. On straights I was as close to him as possible to get as much draft as possible and we were almost as close to eachother in corners.

There were too many fights in this race to comment on so I will skip them.
The final lap was also interesting we caught up with Prevot but I had used too much fuel so I had to drive safely that lap and I think it cost me 2 positions so I finished 8th.

I am glad we did great tandem with Ronny and that allowed us to close the gap to the leaders and walk away with some points.
Also congrats to team for great result and great work again.

Looking forward to Monza.

After that me and Hirrle somehow got away from the group and could do some nice tandem until I pited.
After that I tried to catch Bruno wich I did 4 laps before the end of the race and decided to try and pass on final lap, I was alongside Bruno after parabolica and might have had momentum to pass him but Bruno decided to turn into me and that made my car slow down and my chance for overtaking him was gone.

After so much hard work this season it feels very rewarding to secure the championship with a win. I want to thank the whole team for this truly amazing year. About the race, it was another fantastic race. The setup was so good, one of the best setups of the season. The car was pretty easy to drive and I showed that in qualifying by taking pole. In the first few laps I couldn't get rid of Ronny; so I was a bit worried, but then he started to make some mistakes and I could get away. The rest of the race the gap was increasing all the time, but it was very difficult to keep the concentration. I think this is the longest race of the year and the track is so difficult, it was really hard to keep the concentration for so long, especially when you are in front for the whole race. So to win this race feels very special, and to secure the championship here aswell is just amazing.25View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

So I could only manage P3. In the first few laps it was important to keep close to Ronny, but I had to pass Atze if I wanted to stay close. I had to take some risks then and in Lap2 I passed him in turn 1 and could immediately close the gap to Ronny. I stayed behind for a couple of laps, I wanted to create a gap to Atze and when we managed that I passed Ronny and we were increasing the lead even more. It became clear in the 2nd stint that Atze and Rasmus were on a 1 stop strategy, this meant I had to push like crazy the whole 2nd stint. When Ronny and I made our 2nd stop we came out behind them and then I had to pass Ronny, Atze and Rasmus on track if I wanted to win. In the end it was quite easy to pass them with the fresher tyres and the crazy slipstream effect. My main opponent was Ronny but he was too busy fighting with Rasmus which meant I could create a nice comfortable gap and take another win! Thank you to the whole team again for the great work.25View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

Obviously my race was compromised by a pitlane start, I lost 16 seconds because of that so to finish 13 seconds behind the winner is a good thing I guess. The first few laps were very lonely, but I soon caught traffic and after some crazy moves by Mallorqui we decided to pit early and hopefully jump them in the pits. Unfortunately that group was on a 1 stopper so I caught them again together with Malezic. I lost a lot of time thanks to crazy defending from Mallorqui again but eventually got through. After my 2nd pitstop I saw that P3 was possible so Iwas pushing 100% every lap. Passing Mikko wasn't that difficult because he had a lot older tyres but Rasmus had fresher tyres so it was a lot more difficult to pass him. In the end I managed after a great fight, and to get P3 with a pitlane start is a great result.15View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

R: Start went well got into 3rd place and was just watching what will De Wit and Bruno do. De Wit crashed himself and Bruno out so I was 1st and managing engine for next stints. Jaakko was close behined and we pulled away from the rest of the pack wich was nice because I was sure that Atze and Hirrle will do 1 stopper.
On lap 19 I made my first stop wich was swift and clean and after that started pushing to close the gap on 1 stopping guys.
Everything went according to plan and pace was good until I passed Mikko on lap 27 T1 after wich he had oversteer moment and slammed into me wich almost made me crash into barrier.
This was realy frustraiting as it also caused bad damage and I lost 0,3-4s every lap to my target laptimes. The rest of the race was just full on pushing to have any chance for a reasonable result. I also decided to repair damage on my second pitstop wich was totaly wrong decision as it cost me extra 6s in pit and the car was still rubish so nothing was repaired.
At the final laps had realy great battle with Bono but I was unable to keep him behined with this car and so I had to settle for 4th position.

Realy frustraiting race as I was looking forward to battle with Bruno and De Wit but we all know what happned there and after that akward mistake from Mikko wich shouldnt have occured took away seemingly easy victory.
Obviously I would have had to overtake Hirrle and Jaakko but with fresh rubber and with better overall speed the chances were good for a win.

Thanks again to the team and congrats to Jaakko for his win. See you in Abu Dhabi12View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

Qualifying was great, did a PB and Atze was unbeatable. P2 was the best we could hope for. I wasn't really planning to pass Atze in turn 1 but he braked extremely early so I got P1 already in the first corner. Obviously with this slipstream it's impossible to get away so I decided to let Atze pass and save boost behind him. I stayed behind him until I made a small mistake under braking for turn 11 and ran wide, allowing Bruno to pass me. Bruno then passed Atze so I had to react immediately, but Atze slowed down more than 100m before the braking zone and clearly I couldn't react to that and hit him, which meant he hit Bruno. Bruno and I were very lucky to get away without any serious damage. After that Bruno was untouchable, I really couldn't keep up with him. I had a good reaction time to the lights, took it easy in to T1 and lost some positions. During the first lap a lot of people were going off in front of me, I went from 9 or 10th to 6th.

I knew my pace was ok, but I also knew I probably couldn't challenge the guys in front of me, so I just focused on keeping a steady rhythm and saving the car.

Q2: I was too agressive with medium tyres so I lost lots of time exiting corners.

R: Start was great I managed to get from P6 to P4 but was pushed wide in t2 so I lost all I gained. After that I had to pass Rudy and it wasnt easy with this years dirty air effect where you lose lots of grip on exits while following other car.
Finally I managed to get a head and start geting into rythm. I was catching Greco and Jaakko rest of ther race but gap was too big so I ended the race on 4th position.

Race:

I had a decent start, some people falling off ahead of me again. After that it was a pretty tough race, I tried pushing as hard as I was comfortable with, but couldn't really make any progress.

I hoped I could maybe gain a few positions with an early pit stop but I unfortunately got caught behind Lee for a lap which negated any gain I might've had.

I had a few close calls with my teammate, luckily we both managed to score points in the end.

Congrats to Bono again and the rest of the podium.8View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

R: Starting from p11 I managed to do a good start but i was forced wide in t1. in t2 i gained back some places and settled behined mikko on p8. I knew dirty air will be disturbing cars balance on exit of corners so i was driving carefuly and waiting for mistakes from the cars infront. At one point i came realy close to spinning and hiting a wall in s3 while exiting a corner all because of the dirty air effect.
After the pitstop on lap 28 or 29 i had chance to pass mikko in fast chicane but he gave not enough room so our cars touched causing me to do full 360 and stall the car, luckily i had some forward motion and i clicked the 1st gear and engine started again.
After few laps i was again behined saxen train and thats where i finished.

Overall a dissapointing race mainly because of my own mistake in q1. On a positive note race pace was good so potential is there.
Hopefuly dirty air will be fixed so it would be more fun for drivers and spectators.

Looking forward to Sepang. See you all there.6View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

Race:

I got a good reaction to the lights, got alongside Jaakko in T1 but decided to back off because I didn't want to risk such a high position.

I was able to follow Jaakko quite easily in the first stint. He pitted one lap earlier than me which created a 2s margin which I was not able to close up.

I was a bit slow in the beginning of the 2nd stint, so I was worried that Greco could catch me, but after a few laps the gap stayed the same and I could pretty much just do a relaxed rhythm until the end of the race.

Very nice team result for us, hopefully I can be a bit more competitive in Istanbul, which is one of my favourite tracks.15View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

Had a safe start, was surprised to see that the guys in front of me didn't pull away more than they did.

Bono caught me quite quickly, and having noticed that he passed 5 guys before me, I didn't fight him very hard to avoid losing time.

After making my pitstop I rejoined right in front of Bruno, and he was able to pass me at the end of the lap. I tried to push hard to stay within his slipstream but failed in the end.

I'm pleased with 5th place however, much better start to the season than last year.

I was perhaps a bit too cautious at the start, lost some positions in the first corners. At the end of the 1st or 2nd lap, I was looking in the mirror while exiting the final corner when I noticed Karol beached on the curb ahead of me. I had to make a fast evasive manouver and lost a lot of time there.

A lap or so later I made a mistake while following Parisis in the 2nd to last corner and was 19th.

After that I was pushing as hard as I could but had to rely on people spinning out in front of me to gain any positions.

Before pits I was 9th and closing in on mikkonen and hirrle but 2 corners before entering pits I made strange mistake and ran onto gravel where I lost 6-8s. Q2: 16.725, P6, not bad but would've liked to have done a bit better.

Race:

I had a decent start, luckily for me the group in front all moved in to my line which gave me a great slipstream. However I was on the inside for T1 and Disley was able to pass me on the outside by braking later.

After that it was a pretty difficult race, following Disley for 45 laps without any chances to pass. Finally on lap 45 in T4 he was battling with De Wit and I managed to make a surprisingly easy pass on the outside.

After that I was battling with De Wit, had a couple of chances out of the final corner, but wasn't close enough. I was shocked to see him pit 10 laps later, giving me the position.

Then until the end I just pushed as hard as I felt comfortable, since I knew Atze was doing a very long stint in front of me. I thought that there was a chance that he would get a puncture, so I wanted to be as close as possible in the final lap, but in the end he made it to the finish.

P4 was a nice surprise on a track where I've always struggled, pace was decent as well. Now 2 week break before we arrive in hell...12View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

In the race I was preparing for passing a couple of drivers during the pit stop window, but an unfortunate moment with De Angelis who didn't see me resulted in an extra trip to the gravel traps and cost any chance to gain positions during the pits.

During the second part of the race I was able to pass Werdmuller and De Angelis with relative ease, but the progression stopped there. Fortunately 2Fast4U-Racing cars suffered engine & tire problems in the final lap and I was able to pass Disley 50 meter before the chequered flag after almost losing the car in the final corner, which was the only enjoyable moment of this race.

Hopefully I can finish an FSR Monaco race after four unsuccessful attempts. This will be my goal for the next weekend.2View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

Q2: 11.6, didn't think I was going to get to Q2 so P7 was very nice.

Race:

I took a decent start, almost passing Rouault before slotting in behind him.

Then after T1 it all started to go wrong. Morand lost traction in front of me, so I had to jump on the brakes, causing me to lose control and hit the barrier, causing damage and dropping to about 13th.

There was more contact before Casino where Conti and Tali crashed, with me getting tangled between the wall and them.

After this the car was basicly ruined, but the suspension arms were pretty straight still, I didn't think I needed to make a pitstop.

But then on the rundown to Tabac, I was in Room's slipstream when he suddenly moved left. In front of me I saw Rouault and Dominguez blocking the road after a crash. There was no chance to slow down fast enough and I made massive contact with Dominguez.

The car was now completely destroyed, with the front left suspension requiring a long (67 second) pitstop to repair damage.

I was now a lap down behind everyone in the top 10, but I was still willing to do my own race and see if some people might retire so that I could score a point.

I caught Jaakko and I assumed he would let me unlap myself sooner or later, but it happened sooner than I expected. His braking caught me off guard in to the Harbor chicane, causing me to jump on the brakes to avoid touching him. The rears locked, I was in the barrier and the race was over.

A shame after such a positive qualifying.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

Q2: P1 with 13.765, a very surprising result considering I knew the strategies of Bono & Jaakko beforehand.

Race:

Starting from pole was great, first time in WC but I had some experiences in the lower divisions in 2008 and 2009.

Unfortunately the joy didn't last very long, before the first 3 laps were complete, I was down to 4th. For sure this is one area in my driving which I should improve in case I find myself starting from pole in the future.

After falling to 4th, I pretty much knew that Bono would win the race, since he was able to build a good gap before his first stop.

I pushed as hard as possible, resulting in a few mistakes but I believe I did a good race regardless.

After Bono's 2nd pitstop he was 4 seconds behind me, closing very fast. Like I mentioned before, I didn't believe I could hold him up for the last ~20 laps. A few laps after catching me, he was ahead and after that it was just about cruising to the end.

The car balance was reasonable, but there was no time to make the setup more towards my needs. Team is working nicely and did some good efforts. In any case it was a good race. In the first lap some drivers wanted to try the impossible again and spun off, so that was nice. So I was staying behind a group of drivers in front of me and waited for the pitstop.
Was a bit surprised to see my teammate pit a lap earlier and thus leapfrog me. I was quite a bit faster in the second stint but had to stay behind, with Nilsson catching us, which wasn't ideal. A few laps before the end, Mikko made a small mistake and I passed, but the few laps to go weren't enough to pass De Matos who had a good top speed. I think with more laps I would have gone through to 5th. In the end I saved the tires, didn't want to risk anything.
Now in the break I have time to analyse some data and hopefully start more infront at the next race to avoid such troubles. Congrats to Atze and Bono.8View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

Race:

Start was pretty tight, a lot of cars heading in to the sweeping corners in sector1, seemed to be quite clean though.

Heading in to the 2nd to last corner on lap 1, I braked as soon as the guys in front of me did, and the guys behind me took advantage, passing me and pushing me wide over the tall curb, dropping me to 13th.

After that I managed to pass Allar and Pat, both were quite tricky to pass because I had much higher wings than them.

I decided to pit 1 lap ahead of schedule to try to leapfrog some places, near the same time a few people retired from disconnections, and I was surprised to see myself in 6th places after the stops, closing in on 5th.

It was very difficult to pass De Matos though, at the same time I knew that I was asking a lot from my tires which were already on the limit even without the dirty air.

I started saving my tires after Dennis passed me, I also had to let Nilsson pass a few laps from the end because I was so concerned that my tires would not last.

Starting the last lap however I saw that I had just enough wear left that I could push as hard as I wanted on the last lap without fear of a puncture.

Starting the final sector I noticed Nilsson made a mistake, so I tried to take advantage. We had a hard fight for the last corners and I managed to pass him on the outside of the 2nd to last corner, which was a very nice feeling in the end.

Congrats to Atze for his 1st win and Bono for his great race, also a nice podium for Blair.6View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

Then going into Q1 I couldn't see my car and some others, it's some ATI bug which I had encountered before already, but not with my own car. I tried to restart rfactor a couple times, eventually it worked but I had to use DX7 which totally messed up the gfx and a few crucial trackmarks.
Had 3 minutes left in Q1 and somehow set a time good enough to get into Q2.
In Q2 I did a reasonable but not perfect lap which meant P5 on the grid, really good considering the circumstances.

Into the race and I had a normal start with plenty of space on the outside of T1 to avoid possible contact with other cars. Stayed on P5 and waited for what would happen with Morris and Nilsson ahead. When Nilsson got past Morris I tried to do the same thing rather quickly, but since passing is not easy I was stuck behind Morris for some laps. I passed him into the chicane but Nilsson was already gone. Pace was okay but I knew I had to save the engine basically the whole race to make it to the end.
I was able to increase the gap to the cars behind, and lost time to the front, so I was free with strategy choice. I decided to pit pretty late so that I would have best tyres in the end, made it easier to save engine and still have a good performance.
So that worked out and finally finished in P4, all in all a very boring race. Car wasn't totally where I wanted it yet but I'm getting closer, Hungary is usually a bad track for me but we'll see what happens.12View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

Race:

I had a very good reaction off the line, noticed I was pulling alongside Blair in front of me. I was able to pass him under braking for T1, then pass DDM and another car in T2. Atze also spun in T2 so I was 6th before the first sector was done.

I knew that my pace was really poor so I felt that a 6th place would already be like winning the lottery.

About 10 laps in to the race however, I noticed that Pat was most likely on soft tires because he had fallen from pole to 4th and was struggling a lot in the corner entrys.

David spun in front of me while following Pat, then a few laps later I managed to pass Pat with a late braking move in to T1.

I wasn't paying much attention to the people around me so I pitted on lap 19 like I had originally planned. To my surprise Room spun right in front of me in the pitentry and I was suddenly in 3rd place.

It's hard to describe what I was feeling at this stage, but needless to say: sometimes it's better to be lucky than good.

I had Blair and DDM following me within 0.5-1s for the last 51 laps, which were quite tense since I knew any mistake would most likely cost me 2 positions.

In the end however, I kept my nerves and finished in a shocking 3rd place. In terms of pace I probably should've been 10th or so, but I'll take any result I can get.

After just missing out Q2 I managed to avoid the car wrecks at the start and was able to follow the train lead by De Wit, but unsurprisingly no overtaking was possible. I went for an early pit stop which paid off as I managed to pass Morris, and just missed out a couple of other cars.
During the last part of the race I became increasingly worried of engine wear which compromised my pace somewhat. Lapchin, being on an odd strategy with worn tires, worked well in the favour of Morris, who was able to pass me in the hazzle, but anyhow I guess I have to say it was a great overtaking move from him.
Congrats to Boner for the championship, well driven kid.

Made a mistake on about lap 15 when following Morgan in to T1, misjudged his entry and I climbed up on his rear wheel, losing a lot of momentum and a position to Stoffel.

Good start, easily kept my lead. Lead for 10 laps until Bono passed me. Was stuck behind him while he was doing god knows what and slowing us down for about 10 laps after finally pulling away.

After that I kept pushing, trying to keep a gap to Jaakko & Morgan behind.

During the pitstop I had a dejavu of Silverstone last year when Jaakko pulled right in front of my pitbox. Had to make a quick decision and manouver around him right next to the garage walls.

The 2nd stint was going fine until the 3rd to last lap, made a mistake in the middle of the 1st Lesmo which allowed Jaakko to get in my slipstream.

Wasn't very nice to drive here because the Mod has too much grip and the beauty of Suzuka was destroyed, as a consequence the field was very close and qualifying was important, luckily I did a good lap in Q2 and was 4th, effectively 3rd.
To the race start and I passed Lapchin into T1 which was crucial. Then I noticed my fuel calculation sucked and I was forced to shortshift almost the whole race.
In lap 15, Morand passed me, in lap 16 I passed him back on the outside of T1, but he pushed me wide in T2, so couldn't make it stick. Went back to do some shortshift waiting for what would happen later.
Pitstops saw not much change, eventually Morand got past Mikko, I tried to stay close as good as I could for the circumstances. Mikko once lost it slightly in spoon, let him back past because I just couldn't challenge for the win if I wanted to finish.

Good result anyway, the team wanted us to get P2 in the constructors which we kinda did, so, nice.

Q2: Solid lap again like in Monza, P2

Race:

I was surprised to not see Bono lining up for the grid, I assumed he had gone over the timelimit to get on the grid. After the race I heard he had an rFactor crash though, shame for him since he had the best pace clearly.

After that I just tried to focus on doing my own race, took a clean start and lead for the first stint with Denny & Morgan about 3s behind me.

I decided to pit 2 laps after Morgan because I was pretty sure Denny would pit 1 lap after him, so I didn't want to risk blocking him in our pitbox.

Exiting the pits I rejoined about 0.8s in front of Morgan and was pulling away slightly until I caught Rouault. Took quite long to pass him despite the tire advantage, and after this Morgan was in my slipstream and was able to pass me quite easily since I had chosen to run more downforce.

I managed to pass him once in to T1, but I made a mistake in the Spoon corner, nearly ending my race but in the end just lost one position.

I made another mistake in the Spoon some laps later which allowed Denny to pass me, but he let me back through on the main straight, thanks for that :).

Had a few more close battles with Morgan afterwards in to the final chicane and in to T1, but I was not able to time the slipstream right to get past.

With about 7 laps to go I noticed my fuel was quite critical, I tried to save for a few laps and then tried to make one last push again. But for the final lap I noticed the fuel was way too low, and I had to cruise quite heavily to avoid running out. After a lap full of coasting my engine started to cough exiting the final chicane, so I barely made it thanks to my last lap efforts.

Congrats to Morgan for his first win, I'm still happy with my own result, wasn't expecting much from this race.18View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2011-10-23United Arab Emirates Yas Marina, UAE 2011 Dennis HirrleWC2011P3P3Comment: Q1: Easier than expected, made it through.
Q2: I went out late so I knew laptimes of the other drivers, just needed a medium lap to be at the front, which I did. P3.

Race: Decided to use soft tyres instead of mediums, 2 stops. That was untested. But I was never happy with these mediums so I just gave it a go for the fun of it.

I stayed in 3rd, lost connection to the two cars ahead, and couldn't get rid of Mikko behind me in the first stint. Knowing Mikko was on mediums and 1 stop, I was pretty sure my strategy would fail.
Pitted in lap 16 or so, and had to pass quite a few drivers who were on 1 stop. That was some fun.
I was still settled to be racing Mikko, but after he made his stop he was 14s behind me due to his misfortune, and the gap stayed identical, which was great. I knew I'd have him after the last stop on fresh tyres.
But then Nilsson made a mistake which allowed me to go through. We had some nice racing, passing Mikko at the same time also. At two points we were battling into the triple chicane, I was left to have no room on both occasions and was forced to cut. Both times I stayed ahead.
I wasn't sure what the stewards would say about that so after the second occasion I gave the position back to Nilsson.

Sadly my car was too bad traction wise, which meant I was never close enough to Nilsson at the end of a straight. P3 was the result.
Unfortunately unlike in Suzuka I never found a good balance on this track and had very little trust into the car even on lower fuel. Not very pleasant. Rear tyres are just too weak in the mod.
Good racing afterall though, I had fun.15View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2011-10-23United Arab Emirates Yas Marina, UAE 2011 Mikko PuumalainenWC2011P5P4Comment: Q1: easier than normal, P5.
Q2: not the best lap, P5.

Race:

Solid start, got a run on Denny out of T1 but backed off.

1st stint was going quite well, 2 stoppers pitted in front of me, but then on my pit-in lap my rFactor suddenly dropped to desktop. I have no idea why it happened, it took be a few moments to get my mouse and get back in to the game. Luckily I didn't get any damage but I lost plenty of time.

After that I completely failed at driving. Was ~1s per lap off the pace and couldn't do anything about it.

Somehow it was enough for P4, but the race is really irrelevant when thinking about the events of today.

R: I took a careful start in order not to mess with the two Finns still fighting for P2 in the championship. Sadly, Gosbee and De Wit went through on me as well. Race ruined. By the time I passed them I was 5 seconds behind the front. I closed the gap, then pitted really late to have best tyres in the end. But on this track it seems nothing ever makes a difference, so all I could do was close the gap again and finish 4th. Not bad anyway for little testing.
Had some fun in the races I did this year. Let's see what rF2 brings. Have a nice winter everyone.12View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2011-11-06Brazil Interlagos, Brazil 2011 Mikko PuumalainenWC2011P2P2Comment: Q1: P1 with 7.356, very good laptime
Q2: P2 with 8.084, good laptime, couldn't match Bono

Race:

Bono had a bit of a slow reaction to the lights which allowed me to take the lead. We had a very nice battle for the first stint, he'd often pass me in to T1 and I'd retake the position in T4, T6 or the beginning of the next lap.

After he passed me on lap 29 or so, he managed to pull a bit of a gap so I made a very late decision to pit. Unfortunately it was too late and I had to wait and lose some seconds while the pitcrew got ready.

When Bono pitted he had a healthy gap to me and there was no chance to fight him anymore.

I kept pushing hard since it was the last race of the season, giving it everything on every lap.

In the end, P2 in the championship is way higher than anything I expected before the season. Obviously Fredrik, Atze and Dennis didn't drive a full season, but I'll take it anyway.

Congrats to Bono again for a stunning season, but now it's time to hibernate.18View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

2013-04-07Australia Melbourne, Australia 2013 Ivar KalameesWC2013P10P14Comment: Quali lap was too safe but 4th place was OK.
Started equally to others around me, but had some slight ghost contact with Jack ahead of me which slowed me down a fraction and Fredrik hit my rear suspension, which got damaged. During the first stint I was able to pass Jack due to his mistake and later on Gergo with an outside pass in turn 3. He kept challenging me for few laps after the overtake but later fell off. After the first pit I came out 4 seconds clear of Jack and that made the 2nd stint easy. After the 2nd pitstop I caught up to Dian quite quickly and passed him under the acceleration. After that took it quite easy until a very surprising brake failure into T6, which turned my car around and into the wall with the rear. Absolutely gutted .0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2013-04-07Australia Melbourne, Australia 2013 John-Eric SaxenWC2013P8P11Comment: Disappointing race, as the car had the pace to finish around 4th-6th with ease. I was not quick enough in Q1 and in the race when the car felt great, I always had a car ahead of me. Towards the end of the race I caught Rasmus and went for the move quickly in order to preserve my tire advantage, but ran wide and lost all chances for a point finish. Well, this seems to be how the season starts have been going for me the last 3-4 years. Hopefully the situation changes quickly. Well done to Bono and the team anyway.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

Managed to start good from the dirty side and keep the position, after that it was all about gapping the hard tire runners as much as possible.
After the first pitstop I got out in a bit of a traffic which fortunately was quite easy to clear due to the tire advantage.
In the middle of the 3rd stint I was caught and passed by Morgan but I could pass him back at the end of the stint despite some quite surprising defensive moves.
Pitted exactly at the right time for the last stop and got out barely ahead of Morgan. Due to the tire advantage I was able to build a gap and save the car til the end to take home P2. 18View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result
2013-04-21Bahrain Shakir, Bahrain 2013 John-Eric SaxenWC2013P9P5Comment: This result was a nice way to end my rFactor career. I didn't feel I had the pace to get into Q2, but I got a lap with sectors together which turned out to be enough. I opted to not run a lap in Q2 in order to save the tires; with hindsight this was a mistake, as many other drivers made big mistakes on their laps.

Starting from P9, I managed to avoid a heavy collision in turn 2. After losing a position early in the race, I managed to pass Lapchin in the opening stint, but still lost a lot of time being stuck in a queue of drivers. Luckily some drivers made mistakes or opted to pit early, which meant I finally got a clear track in sixth place around lap 15.

At this point I tried to put pressure on Kostadinov, but he seemed a bit quicker in the first part of a race. After a mistake of his I just managed to get ahead and keep the gap around 1 seconds, as our pace was virtually identical. The battle got a bit complicated by a couple of backmarkers, but overall it was very enjoyable and I'm quite happy to finish sixth after such a close race. I'm a bit disappointed I got stuck early in the race, as the podium was only 10 seconds away, but this was a good finish nevertheless.

On towards new challenges...10View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

Q2: 35:996, Again was a solid lap but could of been faster, was P3 of the hard starters so I was happy.

Race: The race start was insane, lots of battles and some nudges but took no damage, had a nice 3 wide in T2 with De Wit/Lapchin with wheel bumps but nothing major, after this I had contact with Kalamees but luckily no damage still but on lap 3 or 4 I was following Yannick into T1 and went to the right to get in the mirrors of him but we made some contact and his wheel came off, personally there was lag and I hit his rear wheel and it detached, I can only apologize for it, here is a screen from my perspective - http://oi39.tinypic.com/72f4te.jpg but via server replay it just shows me hitting his rear wheel full on. I was suprised at how early he broke but it was way too late by then. If anything I should of received front wing damage rather than this unfortunate incident, however the rest of the race was good, keeping pace to Ivar/Jack which was nice but due to restrictions of driving WS champ I couldn't get above P6 and I got it luckily splitting Mallorqui and De Wit. This was hard as they were fighting very close.

Thanks to the team for this opportunity 2View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

Q2 was good aswel only 0.025 behind Martin and just infront of both Jack and Ivar.

Race start was good holding up the place until t6 when i got stuck on the kerb at the exit. Really stupid mistake wich cost me 5 positions in the first place. Ride after that i couldn't keep some soft guys behind. So i got stuck in some fights. In many of the overtaking attemps i got cut off ore pushed onto a kerb wich was really bad. Also got a tab from Peter Varga one time in the last corner.

We switched over to a 3 stop but it dident work out in the end.
It was a hard race with some unfortunate mistakes and incidents.
I wil take this 1 point with both hands. Up to the next one!1View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

Race: Start was ok but got heavy damage, with yellow on most parts of the car and was following Simoncic for most of the stint, once I boxed I came out behind Puschke with whom I battled a few times, once he pitted I was nearing my 2nd stop but with the damage I sustained I couldn't tell whether the car would turn in or understeer, unfortunately it turned in and I clipped the entry of swimming pool with terminal damage, race over.

Gotta thank the team for the awesome car, really was a peach - unfortunaly got hit at the rear in T1 on lap 1 and was fighting a loose rear end from that moment on and was having to push really hard to keep up with Ivar which sucked as when the tyres got towards the end of the stint it was just awful.

Once we got the strategy clear I knew i would have to push like mad to keep ahead of Morgan late on and sadly pushed it too heard through nouvelle chicane and got my sidepod ripped by the Invisible barrier which killed the engine instantly.

Pretty distraught about it so thanks RD for the awesome track.0View Official Result Download PDF File of Official Result

I struggled in qualification and took p 11.

The racestart looked promossing as i took p 6 after the first lap.
Then I was stuck behind a train of cars. Unfortunatly I lost my front wing while hitting Ivar Kalamees on the back. Also there was some contact with Morgan Morand.

From that point my race was clearly done.
The car handdling was far from ideal as i suffered damage so ending up p11 was the best I could do.

It was really a shame because with my pace I could have ended up somewhere in the top 10.
